Boss: Ramrock
Prepare for a unique boss encounter with Ramrock, the guardian of the eighth dungeon, the Ancient Tomb. This battle requires quick thinking and precise use of your equipped items. Ramrock is a large, stationary golem-like boss with a segmented body and powerful punching arms. The arena is a square room with a central platform.
Phase 1: Punching Power
Ramrock begins by attempting to crush you with its powerful fists. Its arms will extend and retract, aiming to hit you as you move around the perimeter of the room. Your goal in this phase is to use Ramrock's own strength against it.
- Equip the Power Bracelet: This is crucial for manipulating the environment.
- Identify the Target: Notice the large, round, metallic spheres scattered around the room. These are your projectiles.
- Strategy:
- Wait for Ramrock to extend one of its arms towards you.
- As an arm is extended, quickly grab one of the metallic spheres using the Power Bracelet.
- Position yourself so that when Ramrock's arm retracts, you can throw the sphere directly into its open hand.
- If timed correctly, the sphere will be caught by Ramrock's hand, causing it to reel back and expose its core.
- Immediately switch to your sword (preferably the Noble Sword or Master Sword if you have it) and unleash as many strikes as possible on its glowing core.
- Repeat this process. Ramrock will often alternate which arm it uses, so be ready to adjust your position.
- Dodge and Weave: While you're setting up your throws, continuously move to avoid being crushed by its fists. The edges of the room offer the most space.
Phase 2: Projectile Barrage
After taking enough damage, Ramrock will change its attack pattern. It will now fire a series of projectiles from its hands. These projectiles can be either small, fast-moving energy balls or larger, slower-moving spheres that bounce around the room.
- Equip the Seed Shooter (with Ember Seeds): This is your primary weapon for this phase.
- Strategy:
- Ramrock will open its hands and launch projectiles. Your objective is to hit its open hands with Ember Seeds.
- Aim carefully with the Seed Shooter. You need to hit the inside of its hands as they open to fire.
- Each successful hit with an Ember Seed will cause Ramrock to flinch and expose its core again.
- Switch back to your sword and attack the core relentlessly.
- Be mindful of the projectiles it fires. The bouncing spheres can be particularly tricky to avoid in the confined space. Keep moving and use the central platform for temporary cover if needed.
- Conserve Seeds: While Ember Seeds are plentiful, try to make each shot count to avoid running out during critical moments.
Phase 3: Rolling Attack
Once Ramrock has taken significant damage from the Seed Shooter, it will adopt its final, most aggressive attack. It will retract its arms and begin to roll around the room, attempting to flatten you.
- Equip the Magnetic Gloves: This item is absolutely essential for this phase.
- Identify the Vulnerability: Ramrock's core will still be its weak point, but it's now protected by its rolling form.
- Strategy:
- As Ramrock rolls, it will occasionally reveal its core for a brief moment. This is your window.
- Use the Magnetic Gloves to either push or pull Ramrock.
- Pushing: If Ramrock is rolling towards you, use the "push" function of the Magnetic Gloves to send it careening into a wall. This will momentarily stun it and expose its core.
- Pulling: If Ramrock is rolling away or across the room, use the "pull" function to draw it towards you, causing it to hit a wall or another obstacle, again exposing its core.
- Once its core is exposed, quickly switch to your sword and deliver as many hits as possible.
- This phase requires precise timing and good spatial awareness to anticipate Ramrock's movements and effectively use the Magnetic Gloves.
- Stay Mobile: Ramrock's rolling attack is fast and can deal heavy damage. Keep moving and try to predict its path to avoid being hit.
Continue to exploit Ramrock's weaknesses in each phase, and eventually, the mighty golem will fall, granting you the eighth and final Essence of Time, the Changing Time. grab your well-deserved Heart Container after the battle!
