Entering Jabu-Jabu's Belly
Once you've gained access to Jabu-Jabu's Belly, you'll find yourself in a large, watery chamber. Your immediate goal is to navigate through the initial rooms and start the process of lowering and raising water levels.
Navigating the Initial Chambers
- From the entrance, head north. You'll enter a room with a few Zols. Defeat them and proceed north again.
- In this next room, you'll find a switch. Hit the switch to lower the water level.
- With the water lowered, head west. You'll be in a dry room with a few Ropes. Clear them out.
- Go north from here. You'll find a Small Key on a platform. Grab it.
- Return south, then east to the room with the switch. Hit the switch again to raise the water level.
- Now that the water is high, swim east. You'll find a locked door. Use your newly acquired Small Key to open it.
Obtaining the Dungeon Map
After passing through the locked door:
- You'll be in a room with several Floormasters. These enemies can be annoying, so defeat them carefully.
- Once the room is clear, head north.
- In this room, you'll find the Dungeon Map. Collect it to reveal the layout of Jabu-Jabu's Belly.
Finding the Compass
With the map in hand, let's locate the Compass:
- From the Dungeon Map room, head south back to the Floormaster room.
- Go west. You'll be in a room with a few Zols and a block puzzle.
- Push the blocks to clear a path and proceed south.
- In this room, you'll find the Compass. This will show you the locations of keys and the boss on your map.
The Long Hook: Your Essential Tool
The Long Hook is crucial for navigating Jabu-Jabu's Belly. Here's how to get it:
- From the Compass room, head north, then east, back to the Floormaster room.
- From the Floormaster room, go east. You'll be in a room with a large gap and a few Peahats.
- Use your Hookshot to cross the gap.
- Continue east. You'll enter a room with a mini-boss: Angler Fish.
- Strategy: The Angler Fish will swim around, occasionally charging at you. Its weak point is its lure. Use your Sword to hit the lure when it's exposed. Be mindful of the smaller fish it releases.
- Once the Angler Fish is defeated, a portal will appear, and the door to the north will open.
- Go north. In this chamber, you will find the Long Hook. This upgraded Hookshot allows you to cross much larger gaps.
Navigating with the Long Hook
Now that you have the Long Hook, many new paths open up:
- Return south to the Angler Fish room, then west across the gap.
- Go west again, back to the Floormaster room.
- From here, head north to the room where you found the Dungeon Map.
- Go west. You'll see a large gap that was previously uncrossable. Use your Long Hook to grapple across.
- In this new area, head north. You'll find a room with a few Water Tektites.
- Go east. You'll be in a room with a switch and a few Zols. Hit the switch to lower the water level.
- Now, head south. You'll be on a raised platform. Use your Long Hook to grapple to the platform on the east side of the room.
- From this platform, head south again. You'll find a Small Key.
- Return north, then west, back to the room with the switch. Hit the switch to raise the water level.
- Go west. You'll be in a room with a locked block. Use your Small Key to unlock it.
- Proceed west through the newly opened path.
Reaching the Boss Key
You're getting close to the Boss Key:
- You'll enter a room with a few Water Tektites and a large block puzzle.
- Carefully push the blocks to create a path to the north exit.
- In the next room, you'll face a few more enemies. Clear them out.
- Head east. You'll find a room with a large central platform and several Ropes.
- Go north from here. You'll find a room with a switch. Hit the switch to lower the water level.
- Now, head south, back to the room with the central platform.
- With the water lowered, you can now access the lower areas. Go west.
- You'll find yourself in a room with a few Zols and a large chest. Open the chest to obtain the Boss Key!
Confronting Plasmarine
With the Boss Key in hand, it's time to face the dungeon boss:
- From the Boss Key room, head east, then north, back to the switch room. Hit the switch to raise the water level.
- Go south, then east. You'll be in a room with a few Water Tektites.
- Head north. You'll find the Boss Door. Use your Boss Key to open it.
- Enter the Boss Chamber to face Plasmarine.
Boss Strategy: Plasmarine
- Phase 1: Plasmarine will swim around the arena. It's initially invulnerable. Wait for it to charge at you and reveal its core.
- Phase 2: When Plasmarine charges, it will expose its central eye. This is your opportunity to attack. Use your Sword to hit the eye.
- Phase 3: After a few hits, Plasmarine will start to split into smaller, weaker versions of itself. These smaller Plasmarines can still damage you. Focus on hitting the main Plasmarine's eye whenever it's exposed.
- Phase 4: As it takes more damage, Plasmarine will become faster and more aggressive. Continue to dodge its charges and strike its eye.
- Recommended Items: Sword for attacking, Pegasus Boots for dodging if needed.
Once Plasmarine is defeated, collect your Heart Container and proceed to the next room to claim the Changing Seasons Essence!
