Dungeon Item Locations

Navigating the dungeons of Holodrum can be a daunting task, but securing the key items within is essential for your progress. This section meticulously details the location and acquisition strategy for every crucial dungeon item, from the invaluable Dungeon Maps and Compasses to the game-changing Boss Keys and unique dungeon tools.

Level 1: Gnarled Root Dungeon

  • Dungeon Map: From the dungeon entrance, head right one screen. Defeat all the Moblins in this room to unlock the door to the north. Proceed through the northern door. In this new room, defeat the two Hardhat Beetles by knocking them into the pits with your sword. Once they're dispatched, a chest containing the Dungeon Map will appear.
  • Compass: After obtaining the Dungeon Map, head back one screen south. Now, go through the eastern door. In this room, you'll encounter a series of Spiked Beetles. Use your Shield to flip them over, then finish them off with your sword. Once the room is clear, a chest will materialize, holding the Compass.
  • Slingshot: From the Compass room, head north. You'll find yourself in a room with a central block puzzle. Push the blocks strategically to create a path to the northern door. In the next room, you'll face a Mini-Boss: the Goriya. The Goriya throws boomerangs; dodge its attacks and strike when it's vulnerable. After defeating it, a portal will appear, and the door to the right will open. Enter the right door. This room contains a large chest. Open it to claim the Slingshot, your first ranged weapon!
  • Boss Key: With the Slingshot in hand, return to the room where you fought the Goriya. Now, head back south two screens until you are in the room with the Hardhat Beetles (where you got the Dungeon Map). From here, go west one screen. You'll see a small unlit torch and a switch. Use your newly acquired Slingshot with Ember Seeds to light the torch. This will activate a moving platform. Ride the platform across the gap. On the other side, you'll find a chest containing the Boss Key.

Level 2: Snake's Remains

  • Dungeon Map: From the entrance, head right one screen. Defeat the two Ropes and the Keese. Then, push the single block in the center of the room to open the door to the north. Go north. In this room, you'll find a chest directly in front of you. Open it to get the Dungeon Map.
  • Compass: After acquiring the Dungeon Map, head back south one screen, then west one screen to the dungeon entrance. Now, head north one screen. You'll be in a room with several Ropes and a single unlit torch. Use Ember Seeds (from your Slingshot, if you have it, or by finding some in the dungeon) to light the torch. This will cause a chest to appear, containing the Compass.
  • Power Bracelet: From the room where you got the Compass, head west. You'll encounter a Mini-Boss: the Facade. This boss is a face on the wall that spits rocks and blows wind. Dodge its attacks and use Bombs (if you have them) or your sword to hit its face when it's vulnerable. Once defeated, a portal will appear, and the door to the left will open. Enter the left door. In this room, you'll find a large chest. Open it to receive the Power Bracelet, allowing you to lift heavy objects!
  • Boss Key: With the Power Bracelet, return to the room where you fought Facade. Now, head back south one screen to the dungeon entrance. From here, go right one screen, then north one screen (the room where you got the Dungeon Map). In this room, you'll see a heavy block that was previously unmovable. Use your Power Bracelet to lift and move this block. This will reveal a staircase. Descend the stairs. In the underground passage, navigate through the enemies until you reach a chest at the end. This chest holds the Boss Key.

Remember to always check every nook and cranny, defeat all enemies in a room, and experiment with your items. Many puzzles in Oracle of Seasons require creative use of your inventory!
