Subrosian Dance
The Subrosian Dance is a unique mini-game located within Subrosia, offering a chance to earn valuable items and progress through certain quests. Mastering the dance requires keen observation and precise timing. You'll need to participate in this dance to obtain the Boomerang, a crucial item for later dungeons.
Location and Initiation
To find the Subrosian Dance Hall, head to the central area of Subrosia. It's easily identifiable by the group of dancing Subrosians outside its entrance. Speak to the Subrosian standing at the entrance to initiate the dance. There are two difficulty levels: a practice round and the actual dance for prizes.
Dance Mechanics and Strategy
The Subrosian Dance involves mirroring the movements of the lead dancer. A series of directional inputs (Up, Down, Left, Right) will appear above Link's head. You must press the corresponding direction on your D-Pad as soon as the icon appears. The sequence will increase in length and speed as you progress.
- Observation is Key: Pay close attention to the lead dancer's movements. They will perform the sequence slightly before the directional icons appear, giving you a brief heads-up.
- Rhythm and Timing: The dance has a distinct rhythm. Try to internalize it and press the buttons in sync with the beat, rather than just reacting to the visual cues.
- Short Sequences First: The initial sequences are short and slow. Use these to get a feel for the timing and the lead dancer's cues.
- Anticipate the Next Move: As the dance progresses, try to anticipate the next directional input based on the rhythm and the lead dancer's previous movements.
- Don't Rush: Pressing a button too early is just as bad as pressing it too late. Aim for precision.
Earning the Boomerang
To acquire the Boomerang, you must successfully complete the dance without making any mistakes. This means flawlessly executing every sequence the lead dancer performs. It may take several attempts, so don't get discouraged. The Boomerang is an incredibly useful item for stunning enemies and retrieving distant items, making the effort well worth it.
Additional Rewards
Even if you don't achieve a perfect score every time, participating in the Subrosian Dance can still yield other useful rewards. These often include:
