Boss: Bellumbeck
The final confrontation with Bellumbeck is a multi-stage battle that will test all your skills and items acquired throughout your journey. Be prepared, as this is a true test of your mastery over the stylus and your understanding of the game's mechanics.
Phase 1: The Phantom Hourglass
Bellumbeck begins by possessing the Phantom Hourglass itself, hovering menacingly. This phase is all about precision and timing.
- Target the Eyes: Bellumbeck's weak points are the large eyes that appear on its body. These are protected by a swirling vortex of dark energy.
- Boomerang Strategy: Equip your Boomerang. Draw a path with your stylus that curves around the vortex and hits one of Bellumbeck's eyes. You'll need to be quick and accurate.
- Repeat and Evade: After a successful hit, Bellumbeck will recoil and often unleash a series of dark energy projectiles. Dodge these by quickly moving Link with the stylus. Repeat the Boomerang attack on the other eye.
- Grapple Hook Opportunity: Once both eyes have been hit, Bellumbeck will become stunned and drop to a lower height. This is your chance! Quickly switch to your Grapple Hook.
- Pull and Slash: Target Bellumbeck's body with the Grapple Hook and pull yourself towards it. Once close, unleash a flurry of sword slashes with your stylus.
- Recharge and Repeat: Bellumbeck will recover and resume its hovering, protected state. Continue to hit its eyes with the Boomerang, then grapple and slash until it is defeated in this form.
Phase 2: Bellum's True Form
After defeating the Phantom Hourglass form, Bellumbeck reveals its true, monstrous form. This phase introduces a new mechanic involving the Spirit Gems.
- Spirit Gem Summons: Bellum will summon dark tentacles that attempt to grab Ciela, Leaf, and Neri, who are now floating around the arena as Spirit Gems. Your primary goal is to protect them.
- Sword Defense: When a tentacle approaches a Spirit Gem, quickly slash at it with your Sword to repel it. If a tentacle successfully grabs a gem, you'll need to quickly slash it free before it can drag the gem away.
- Bellum's Eye: While you're defending the Spirit Gems, Bellum's main eye will occasionally open. This is your window of attack.
- Bow and Arrow: Equip your Bow. When Bellum's eye is open, fire an arrow directly into it. This will stun Bellum briefly.
- Grapple Hook and Slash (Again): Just like in the previous phase, once Bellum is stunned, quickly use your Grapple Hook to pull yourself towards its eye. Unleash as many Sword slashes as you can before it recovers.
- Cycle of Attack: Continue this pattern: defend the Spirit Gems, shoot Bellum's open eye with an arrow, then grapple and slash. The more damage you inflict, the more aggressive Bellum's tentacle attacks will become.
Phase 3: The Final Stand
Bellumbeck, weakened but not defeated, will now attempt a desperate final assault. This phase requires quick reflexes and precise movement.
- Bellum's Charge: Bellum will begin to charge at Link, attempting to ram him. Its eye will be open during these charges.
- Dodge and Counter: As Bellum charges, quickly move Link out of the way. As it passes, its eye will be exposed for a brief moment.
- Boomerang to the Eye: Immediately after dodging, quickly draw a path with your Boomerang to hit Bellum's open eye. This will stun it.
- Grapple and Finish: Once Bellum is stunned, use your Grapple Hook to pull yourself to its eye one last time. Deliver a final barrage of Sword slashes to defeat Bellumbeck for good!
Congratulations, hero! You have vanquished Bellumbeck and saved the World of the Ocean King!
