Boss: Diabolical Cubus Sisters
The Cubus Sisters are a unique boss encounter that relies heavily on your stylus precision and quick thinking. This battle takes place in a circular arena, where you'll face four ghostly sisters who play a deadly game of hide-and-seek.
Phase 1: The Shell Game
The initial phase of this boss fight requires you to identify the real Cubus Sister among three illusions. Here's how to tackle it:
- Observe Carefully: The four sisters will appear in a line. One of them will glow briefly before they begin to shuffle around rapidly. Pay close attention to the sister who glows; this is the real one.
- Track the Real Sister: As they shuffle, use your stylus to visually follow the real sister. This can be challenging due to their speed and the visual effects. If you lose track, don't panic, but try your best to keep an eye on her.
- Strike the Correct Sister: Once they stop shuffling, they will form a new line. Quickly tap the sister you believe to be the real one with your stylus.
- Repeat: You'll need to successfully identify and strike the real sister three times to progress to the next phase. Each successful hit will cause the real sister to flash and disappear briefly. If you hit an illusion, it will simply vanish, and you'll have to try again.
Phase 2: Boomerang Barrage
After successfully hitting the real sister three times, the Cubus Sisters will change their tactics. They will now surround Link and begin to launch projectiles at him. This is where your trusty Boomerang becomes essential.
- Equip the Boomerang: Make sure your Boomerang is equipped and ready for use.
- Draw a Path: The sisters will float around the arena, occasionally pausing to fire energy projectiles. When a sister pauses, quickly draw a path with your stylus from Link to the sister, ensuring the path goes *behind* her. The Boomerang will travel along this path.
- Hit from Behind: The key to damaging the Cubus Sisters in this phase is to hit them from behind. Their front is shielded, so a direct frontal attack with the Boomerang will be ineffective. The Boomerang will stun them briefly when hit from behind.
- Sword Attack: Once a sister is stunned by the Boomerang, quickly switch to your Sword and slash at her repeatedly. You'll have a small window to inflict damage before she recovers.
- Avoid Projectiles: While you're attacking, be mindful of the other sisters' projectiles. Keep moving to avoid getting hit.
- Repeat for All Sisters: You'll need to repeat this process for all four Cubus Sisters. Each sister has her own health bar, and you'll see them disappear one by one as you defeat them.
Phase 3: The Final Sister
Once three of the Cubus Sisters have been defeated, only one will remain. This final sister will become more aggressive and faster. The strategy remains the same, but the execution needs to be sharper.
- Increased Speed: The remaining sister will move much faster and fire projectiles more frequently. Your Boomerang paths need to be precise and your reactions swift.
- Focus on the Boomerang: Continue to use the Boomerang to hit her from behind, stunning her.
- Aggressive Sword Strikes: As soon as she's stunned, unleash a flurry of Sword attacks. This is your last chance to deal damage.
- Dodge and Weave: Prioritize dodging her attacks while waiting for an opening to use your Boomerang.
Keep up the pressure, and the last Cubus Sister will eventually fall, rewarding you with a well-deserved Heart Container and the next segment of the Ocean King's Chart!
