After acquiring the second Pure Metal, Oshus will direct you to the Temple of the Ocean King on Mercay Island. This temple is unique because it's filled with a poisonous gas that drains your health. However, you'll acquire the Phantom Hourglass, which allows you to withstand the gas for a limited time. The sand in the hourglass depletes as you spend time in the poisoned areas. Your goal on this first visit is to reach the lower levels and activate a switch that opens a new path. The temple is patrolled by invincible Phantoms. You must avoid their line of sight and use stealth to navigate. Use the map to draw paths and mark safe zones. You'll need to find keys, press floor switches, and use your Boomerang to hit distant targets. The puzzles here often involve manipulating the environment to create safe passages or distract Phantoms. Your primary objective is to reach the lower levels and activate a specific switch that will open a new area in the temple for future visits. This initial visit serves as an introduction to the temple's mechanics and the threat of the Phantoms.
