Spirit Gems are special collectibles that can be used to upgrade Ciela, your fairy companion. There are three types of Spirit Gems: Power Gems, Wisdom Gems, and Courage Gems. Collecting these gems and bringing them to the Fairy Fountain on Mercay Island will enhance Ciela's abilities, which in turn strengthens Link. Each type of gem provides a different upgrade:
- Power Gems: Increase Link's sword damage.
- Wisdom Gems: Increase Link's defense, reducing damage taken.
- Courage Gems: Increase the duration of the Phantom Hourglass, allowing you to stay in the Temple of the Ocean King longer.
You'll find Spirit Gems in various locations: hidden in treasure chests, as rewards for completing side quests, by defeating certain enemies, or by digging them up with the Shovel. The Fairy Fountain is located in a hidden cave on Mercay Island. To access it, you'll need to solve a small puzzle or find a hidden entrance. Once inside, speak to the Great Fairy, and she will apply the upgrades based on the gems you've collected. There are multiple tiers of upgrades for each gem type, so keep collecting them throughout your adventure. Maximizing Ciela's abilities will significantly aid you in combat and dungeon exploration.
