Heart Containers & Heart Pieces
Increasing your maximum health with Heart Containers and Pieces is vital for survival. Collect four Heart Pieces to gain one full Heart Container.
Full Heart Containers
- Boss Rewards: A full Heart Container is awarded after defeating the boss of each of the five main dungeons.
- Tower of Spirits: Full Heart Containers are found on floors 10, 20, and 30 of the Tower of Spirits.
Heart Pieces (16 Total)
- Aboda Village:
- West of village, accessible after obtaining the Sword. Cut bushes to find a cave.
- In the central pond, hit the switch on the island with the Boomerang to create a bridge.
- Forest Realm:
- Whittleton: Use the Whirlwind to clear leaves, revealing a cave entrance.
- Forest Sanctuary: Play the Song of Birds near the entrance to reveal a hidden path.
- Snow Realm:
- Anouki Village: Achieve a high score in the "Snowball Rolling" mini-game.
- Wellspring Cave: Shoot the eye switch across the chasm with the Bow to lower a platform.
- Ocean Realm:
- Papuchia Village: Dive off the platform and enter the underwater cave.
- Ocean Temple Entrance: Use the Whip to swing across a gap to a ledge.
- Fire Realm:
- Goron Village: Achieve a good time in the "Goron Rolling" challenge.
- Fire Sanctuary: Bomb a cracked wall within the sanctuary area.
- Sand Realm:
- Sand Sanctuary: Use the Sand Wand to create a path over quicksand.
- Desert Station: Accessible by pulling away crates with the Whip.
- Dark Realm:
- Dark Realm Station: Navigate a series of moving platforms.
- Hidden Cave: Bomb rocks obscuring a cave entrance in the western Dark Realm.
- Hyrule Castle Town:
- Post-Game: Awarded by the Postman after completing the game.

Spirit Gems (20 Total)
Spirit Gems are used to unlock train upgrades and new train parts. They are often found through mini-games, trading, or by completing specific tasks.
- Aboda Village: Speak to the mayor after your first mission; complete the "Cucco Catching" mini-game.
- Forest Realm: Deliver cargo to Whittleton; play the Song of Discovery near a suspicious patch of ground.
- Snow Realm: Win the "Ice Block Pushing" challenge; defeat hidden Ice Keese near Wellspring Station.
- Ocean Realm: Achieve a large catch in the "Fishing" mini-game; deliver a rare fish to a chef.
- Fire Realm: Complete the "Mine Cart Challenge" within the time limit; find a hidden passage behind a waterfall near the Fire Sanctuary.
- Sand Realm: Help the prospector at Desert Station find his treasure; solve a "Block Pushing" puzzle south of the Sand Sanctuary.
- Dark Realm: Defeat a specific Darknut patrolling a track section; find a hidden chest on an isolated island.
- Hyrule Castle Town: Complete the "Target Practice" with the Bow; deliver a special letter to Chancellor Cole.
- Trading Sequence: Obtain the "Rare Beetle" and trade it through a chain of merchants across different realms.
- Post-Game: Speak to Alfonzo in Aboda Village.
Force Gems (8 Total)
Force Gems are crucial for expanding the Spirit Tracks, opening new routes. They are primarily obtained by completing main dungeons and specific side quests.
- Story Progression: Received after completing the Forest, Snow, Ocean, Fire, and Sand Temples, restoring sections of the Spirit Tracks.
- Side Quest: Bridge Builder: After restoring tracks to the Sand Realm, gather Lumber and Stone materials for the Bridge Builder in Hyrule Castle Town.
- Side Quest: Lost Explorer: Rescue a stranded explorer in the Ocean Realm and transport him to the Fire Realm.
- Side Quest: Treasure Map: Purchase a "Mysterious Map" and follow its clues to find a hidden treasure in the Dark Realm.
Stamp Stations (20 Total)
Collecting stamps for Niko's Stamp Book rewards you with items like the Shield of Antiquity and the Regal Ring. Stamps are found at various stations across New Hyrule.
