Tower of Spirits Floor Guides

Welcome, brave engineer, to the most comprehensive guide to navigating the treacherous Tower of Spirits! This section will provide detailed, floor-by-floor strategies to help you overcome every challenge, defeat every foe, and ultimately restore the Spirit Tracks. Remember, patience and keen observation are your greatest assets within these sacred walls.

General Tower Strategies

  • Phantom Management: Phantoms are the primary threat. Learn their patrol patterns and weaknesses. Remember that you can possess them with Zelda's spirit once you've obtained the Tears of Light.
  • Tears of Light: Each section of the Tower requires you to collect a certain number of Tears of Light to activate the Phantom. These are often hidden or guarded by enemies.
  • Map Awareness: Always check your map! It reveals enemy positions, hidden paths, and the locations of Tears of Light.
  • Environmental Puzzles: The Tower is filled with switches, blocks, and other environmental elements. Think creatively about how to use your items and Zelda's abilities.
  • Item Usage: Don't forget your trusty items! The Boomerang, Whirlwind, Bow, and Whip will be crucial for solving puzzles and defeating enemies.

Floor 1: Introduction to the Tower

This floor serves as a basic tutorial for the Tower's mechanics. You'll encounter your first Armored Phantom here.

  • Objective: Reach the next floor.
  • Walkthrough:
    1. Upon entering, you'll see a single Armored Phantom patrolling the central area.
    2. Head to the right side of the room. You'll find a small alcove with a chest containing a Small Key.
    3. Use the Small Key on the locked door to the north.
    4. Proceed through the door and climb the stairs to the next floor.
  • Enemies: Armored Phantom (invincible at this stage).
  • Items Found: Small Key.

Floor 2: Acquiring the First Tear of Light

Here, you'll learn how to collect Tears of Light and possess a Phantom.

  • Objective: Collect 1 Tear of Light and possess the Armored Phantom.
  • Walkthrough:
    1. As you enter, notice the Armored Phantom patrolling the main path. Your goal is to get behind it.
    2. To the left, you'll see a path blocked by a single block. Push the block forward.
    3. Follow this path, avoiding the Phantom's line of sight. You'll come to a small room with a Tear of Light. Collect it.
    4. With the Tear of Light, Zelda's spirit can now possess the Armored Phantom. Tap on the Phantom when it's nearby to initiate the possession.
    5. Once Zelda is in control of the Phantom, use her to step on the floor switch located in the central area. This will open the gate to the next floor.
    6. Walk Link and the Phantom through the opened gate and climb the stairs.
  • Enemies: Armored Phantom.
  • Items Found: Tear of Light.
  • Strategy Tip: Use the Phantom's large body to block enemy attacks or to activate pressure plates Link cannot reach.

Floor 3: Utilizing the Phantom's Strength

This floor introduces environmental puzzles that require the Phantom's unique abilities.

  • Objective: Reach the next floor using the Phantom's strength.
  • Walkthrough:
    1. Upon arrival, you'll see a series of unlit torches and a locked door.
    2. Have Zelda (as the Phantom) stand on the large pressure plate to the left. This will temporarily open a gate.
    3. Quickly guide Link through the opened gate. Inside, you'll find a Torch.
    4. Use the Torch to light the unlit torches in the main room. This will unlock the door to the north.
    5. Reunite Link and the Phantom. Guide both through the newly opened door.
    6. In the next area, you'll encounter a cracked wall. Have the Phantom charge into the cracked wall to break it open, revealing the path to the stairs.
    7. Proceed to the next floor.
  • Enemies: None.
  • Items Used: Torch.
  • Strategy Tip: Remember that the Phantom can destroy certain obstacles that Link cannot. Look for cracked walls or breakable blocks.
