How to Beat Vaati (Dark Hyrule Castle)

Phase 1: Vaati's Eye

Vaati appears as a giant eye with two arms. He attacks with magical projectiles and by slamming his arms.

Strategy

1. Dodge and Attack Arms: Dodge his magical attacks. When his arms slam down, attack the eyes on his arms with your sword.
2. Expose Core: After damaging the arm eyes, Vaati's main eye will open and reveal smaller eyes around it.
3. Use Four Sword: Quickly use the cloning panels to create four Links.
4. Attack Small Eyes: Position your clones to hit all the small eyes simultaneously. This will stun Vaati.
5. Attack Main Eye: While stunned, attack Vaati's main eye with your sword.
6. Repeat: Repeat the process until this form is defeated.

Phase 2: Vaati's Wrath

Vaati transforms into a larger, more monstrous form, still with a central eye and two large arms. He attacks with powerful gusts of wind and by slamming his fists.

Strategy

1. Shrink and Enter: When Vaati slams his fists, one will often reveal a Minish portal. Shrink down and enter the fist.
2. Destroy Tendons: Inside the fist, destroy the dark tendons with your sword.
3. Exit and Repeat: After destroying the tendons, Vaati will recoil. Grow back to normal size and repeat for the other fist.
4. Attack Eye: Once both fists are weakened, Vaati's main eye will be exposed. Use the Four Sword to create clones and attack the eye.
5. Repeat: Continue until this form is defeated.

Phase 3: Vaati's Soul

Vaati transforms into a small, dark orb with a single eye, surrounded by smaller orbs. He teleports and shoots projectiles.

Strategy

1. Use Gust Jar: Use the Gust Jar to suck in the smaller orbs surrounding Vaati.
2. Expose Core: Once all small orbs are absorbed, Vaati's main eye will be exposed.
3. Use Four Sword: Quickly use the cloning panels to create four Links.
4. Attack Eye: Unleash a powerful multi-sword attack on Vaati's eye.
5. Repeat: Repeat the process until Vaati is finally defeated.
