As Wolf Link, you gain access to a unique set of abilities crucial for navigating the Twilight Realm, solving puzzles, and engaging in combat. Understanding and mastering these skills is key to progressing through the game.

Combat Abilities

Bite Attack: Your primary offensive move. Press the attack button to lunge and bite at enemies. While effective against most standard foes, it's particularly useful for stunning larger enemies or breaking through certain defenses.
Spin Attack: Hold down the attack button and release to perform a wide-ranging spin attack. This is invaluable for clearing groups of enemies surrounding you, especially Shadow Beasts.
Energy Field (Midna's Attack): When surrounded by multiple enemies, particularly Shadow Beasts, Midna can unleash a powerful energy field. Target an enemy with Z-targeting, then press the attack button repeatedly. This attack will damage all enemies within a certain radius, often instantly defeating weaker foes or stunning stronger ones. Exploration & Puzzle-Solving Abilities

Sense: Press the designated button to activate Wolf Link's heightened senses. This allows you to perceive hidden objects, invisible enemies, and most importantly, the spirits of the dead.
- Hidden Objects: Use Sense to locate buried items, hidden paths, or invisible platforms. Look for shimmering outlines or distinct scents.
- Spirits: When in the Twilight Realm, Sense is vital for seeing and communicating with the spirits of the Light Spirits, which are often the key to restoring light to a region.
- Scent Trails: Follow distinct scent trails to track characters, find hidden items, or navigate complex areas. For example, you'll use this extensively to track the children of Ordon Village early in the game.
Dig: While in Sense mode, if you see a glowing spot on the ground, you can dig there by pressing the action button. This often unearths Rupees, hidden passages, or quest-critical items. Pay close attention to areas where you've used Sense and see unusual ground patterns.
Midna's Jump: Midna can assist Wolf Link in reaching otherwise inaccessible ledges. Approach a high ledge and press the jump button; Midna will appear and boost you up. This is crucial for navigating vertical environments and reaching secret areas.
Howling: By standing on specific Howling Stones (identifiable by their distinct markings and the glowing aura when in Sense mode), Wolf Link can howl a tune.
