Navigating the intricate dungeons of Hyrule can be a daunting task, but with the right guidance, you'll uncover every secret and conquer every foe. This section provides detailed, actionable walkthroughs for obtaining the Dungeon Map and Compass in each major dungeon, ensuring you're never lost and always prepared.
Faron Woods: Forest Temple
The Forest Temple is your first true dungeon challenge. Obtaining the map early is crucial for efficient progression.
- Dungeon Map Location:
- Upon entering the temple, proceed forward until you reach the main room with the large central tree.
- Head to the eastern side of this room. You'll notice a small, elevated platform.
- Use your Gale Boomerang (obtained earlier in the dungeon) to target the hanging vines above the platform. Swing across to reach a new area.
- In this new area, defeat the two Bokoblins.
- Open the treasure chest located here to acquire the Dungeon Map.
- Compass Location:
- From the main room with the central tree, take the northern exit.
- You'll enter a room with a large, rotating bridge and several platforms.
- Navigate across the platforms, defeating any enemies in your path.
- On the far side of this room, you'll find another treasure chest. Open it to claim the Compass. This will reveal all treasure chests and key locations on your map!
Death Mountain: Goron Mines
The Goron Mines present unique challenges with their magnetic floors and lava pits. The map and compass are essential for navigating its fiery depths.
- Dungeon Map Location:
- After obtaining the Hero's Bow, return to the large central chamber with the massive Goron statue.
- Look for a platform high above the ground on the western side of this room.
- Use your Hero's Bow to shoot the rope holding the bridge on the eastern side, causing it to drop.
- Cross this newly formed bridge.
- You'll find a treasure chest containing the Dungeon Map on the other side.
- Compass Location:
- From the room where you found the Dungeon Map, proceed through the northern exit.
- You'll enter a room with several magnetic platforms. Use your Iron Boots to traverse these.
- At the end of this magnetic platform sequence, you'll find a small alcove.
- Inside this alcove is a treasure chest. Open it to obtain the Compass.
Lake Hylia: Lakebed Temple
The Lakebed Temple is a water-filled labyrinth. Mastering its water flow mechanics is key, and the map will be your guide.
- Dungeon Map Location:
- Upon entering the temple, proceed to the central chamber with the large water wheel.
- Head to the eastern side of this chamber and locate a staircase leading down into the water.
- Dive into the water and swim through the underwater passage until you reach a new room.
- In this room, you'll find a treasure chest on a raised platform. Use the Clawshot (obtained earlier) to grapple to it.
- Open the chest to acquire the Dungeon Map.
- Compass Location:
- From the central chamber with the water wheel, manipulate the water flow to raise the water level in the western section of the temple.
- Swim through the now accessible western passage.
- You'll enter a room with several water jets. Navigate carefully, using your Iron Boots when necessary to avoid being pushed around.
- On a small ledge in this room, you'll spot a treasure chest. Open it to claim the Compass.
