Your adventure begins in a small cave in the Overworld. Upon entering, you will encounter an Old Man who utters the iconic words: "IT'S DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE! TAKE THIS." He will then present you with your very first weapon: the Wooden Sword. This is an essential item, as Link cannot attack without it. Immediately equip the Wooden Sword by pressing the 'A' button. Without a sword, Link is defenseless against the numerous creatures that inhabit Hyrule.
After acquiring the Wooden Sword, exit the cave. You will find yourself in the vast Overworld. Your immediate goal should be to familiarize yourself with the controls and the basic combat mechanics. Practice swinging your sword at the various Octoroks and Tektites that roam the starting area. Don't venture too far from the starting cave initially, as stronger enemies lurit in other regions. Focus on understanding how to engage enemies, block their projectiles (if applicable), and collect any dropped Rupees or hearts. This initial training will be invaluable for the challenges ahead.
