Welcome, brave adventurer, to the first dungeon of The Legend of Zelda: The Eagle! This guide will walk you through each step, ensuring you collect all essential items and conquer the challenges within. Prepare to face Stalfos and Goriyas, and gather crucial tools like the Blue Candle, Map, and Compass.

Dungeon 1: The Eagle Walkthrough

Follow these steps to successfully navigate the Eagle dungeon and acquire its key items:

1. Enter the Dungeon: From the entrance, immediately head to the right.
2. First Encounter & Key Acquisition:
   • In this room, you'll face several Stalfos (skeletal enemies). Defeat them to clear the path.
   • Proceed through the door to the next room.
   • Here, defeat more Stalfos. Upon their defeat, you will find and collect your first Key.
3. Accessing the Blue Candle Shop:
   • Head back left to the previous room.
   • Now, proceed north through the locked door (use the Key you just found).
   • You've entered a hidden shop! Here, you can purchase the invaluable Blue Candle for 60 Rupees. The Blue Candle is a crucial item that allows you to light dark rooms and reveal hidden passages, which will be essential later in your quest.
   • Rupee Tip: If you don't have 60 Rupees, exit the dungeon and grind for Rupees by defeating enemies in the overworld. The easiest enemies to farm are Octoroks and Tektites found in the immediate surrounding areas of the dungeon entrance. They often drop 1 or 5 Rupee denominations.
4. Collecting Another Key:
   • After acquiring the Blue Candle, head back south.
   • Then, go right.
   • Proceed north through another locked door.
   • In this room, you'll encounter Goriyas (monkey-like enemies that throw boomerangs). Defeat them all.
   • Once the Goriyas are vanquished, you will obtain another Key.
5. Finding the Dungeon Map:
   • Continue heading north from the Goriya room.
   • You will enter a room containing the Map. Collect this item to reveal the layout of the entire Eagle dungeon on your screen, making navigation much easier.
6. Locating the Compass:
   • From the Map room, head right.
   • Defeat the Goriyas in this room.
   • After defeating them, collect the Compass. The Compass is a vital item that indicates the location of the dungeon's Triforce piece on your map, guiding you towards your ultimate goal in this dungeon.
7. Proceeding to the Boss:
   • Now, head back left.
   • Then go south.
   • Next, move left again.
   • Finally, proceed north through the locked door (using one of your collected Keys) to face the dungeon boss.

Key Items Acquired in The Eagle

During your journey through The Eagle, you will acquire the following essential items:

• Key (x2): Used to unlock various doors within the dungeon, granting access to new areas and items.
• Blue Candle: A crucial utility item that allows Link to light up dark rooms and reveal hidden passages or items by burning certain objects. Purchased for 60 Rupees.
• Map: Reveals the complete layout of the current dungeon, showing all rooms and connections.
• Compass: Pinpoints the exact location of the Triforce piece (or dungeon boss) on your map, guiding you to your objective.
