Aboard the Unreliable

Prepare for adventure aboard the Unreliable, your mobile base in The Outer Worlds 2. Learn its stations and capabilities for planning your interstellar journey.

Aboard the Unreliable, your trusty (and somewhat dilapidated) spaceship, is where your journey truly begins. This vessel serves as your mobile base, a place to rest, craft, and plan your next moves. Understanding its various stations and capabilities is essential for navigating the vastness of space.

The Bridge

The bridge is your command center. Here you'll find:

  • Navigation Console: Used to plot courses to different planets, moons, and space stations within Halcyon.
  • Communication Systems: For interacting with mission control, factions, and other characters.
  • Ship Status Displays: Monitoring your ship's integrity, fuel levels, and other vital statistics.

Crew Quarters

Your companions will reside in the crew quarters. This area is also where you can:

  • Rest and Recover: Sleeping in your bunk will restore your health and replenish your consumables.
  • Interact with Companions: Engage in conversations, learn about their backstories, and deepen your relationships.
  • Manage Companion Gear: While not always directly accessible, you might be able to influence their loadouts through dialogue.

The Medbay

The Unreliable's medbay is equipped for basic medical needs:

  • Healing Station: Used to replenish your health and potentially cure lingering negative status effects.
  • Consumable Crafting: Often, you can craft healing items and other useful consumables here.

The Engineering Bay / Crafting Station

This is where you'll upgrade your gear and craft new items:

  • Weapon and Armor Bench: Upgrade the stats of your weapons and armor, or apply unique mods.
  • Consumable Crafting: Create inhalers, grenades, and other useful items.
  • Ammunition Crafting: If applicable, you might be able to craft ammunition for your weapons.

Cargo Hold

The cargo hold is where you store excess items. While your personal inventory has limits, the ship's cargo hold offers additional storage space.

Ship Combat (if applicable)

Depending on the game's mechanics, the Unreliable might be involved in space combat. If so, the bridge or a dedicated combat station would be where you control ship weapons, shields, and evasive maneuvers.

Maintenance and Upgrades

Throughout your journey, you may have opportunities to upgrade the Unreliable itself, improving its speed, defenses, or the functionality of its various stations. These upgrades often require specific resources or quest completions.
