Tactical Time Dilation, or TTD, is one of The Outer Worlds' most distinctive and powerful combat mechanics. It allows you to briefly slow down time, giving you a sificant advantage in firefights. Mastering TTD is key to overcoming challenging encounters and executing stylish combat maneuvers.

How TTD Works:

When activated, TTD dramatically slows down the passage of time for everything except your character. This gives you ample opportunity to:

• Target Weak Points: Aim for enemy weak spots, such as heads or exposed power cores, to deal critical damage.
• Prioritize Targets: Quickly identify and eliminate the most dangerous threats on the battlefield.
• Use Abilities Strategically: Deploy companion commands or your own special abilities with precision.
• Evade Attacks: Dodge incoming projectiles or melee strikes with greater ease.
• Reload Safely: Find a moment to reload your weapon without being overwhelmed.

Activating TTD:

TTD is activated by a dedicated button (default is 'Q' on PC, LB/L1 on consoles). However, it's not an unlimited resource. TTD has a meter that depletes as you use it. The rate of depletion is influenced by your character's Intelligence and Dexterity stats, as well as certain perks and gear.

TTD Meter and Regeneration:

The TTD meter fills up over time, but there are ways to speed up its regeneration:

• Dealing Damage: Landing hits on enemies, especially critical hits, will replenish your TTD meter.
• Killing Enemies: Eliminating foes provides a sificant boost to your TTD meter.
• Headshots: Critical hits to the head are particularly effective at refilling TTD.

TTD Perks and Upgrades:

The TTD system can be further enhanced through various perks and gear mods:

• Perks: Several perks in the TTD tree offer sificant benefits. For example, 'The Reaper' perk allows you to regain TTD on critical hits, while 'Scanner' highlights enemy weak points during TTD.
• Gear Mods: Some weapon and armor mods can increase TTD duration, reduce its cooldown, or even grant special effects when TTD is active.

Strategic Use of TTD:

TTD is not just for overwhelming odds; it can be used proactively:

• Opening Engagements: Activate TTD at the start of a fight to quickly assess the situation and eliminate key threats before they can react.
• Crowd Control: Use TTD to line up headshots on multiple enemies or to escape a swarm.

Companion Commands During TTD:

While TTD is active, you can also issue commands to your companions. This allows you to coordinate attacks, have them use their special abilities, or direct them to focus fire on specific targets, making your team far more effective.

Example Scenario:

You're ambushed by a group of Marauders. You activate TTD, slowing down time. You quickly target the leader's head with your pistol for a critical hit, which partially refills your TTD. Then, you switch to a shotgun and blast the closest enemy. As TTD begins to fade, you issue a command for your companion to use their area-of-effect ability on the remaining enemies.
