Phase 1: The Book's Fury (2D)

Humgrump will initially attack from within the storybook, manipulating the pages to create hazards. Jot will be in 2D form.

  • Attack Patterns: Humgrump will tear pages, creating gaps, or summon ink blots that move across the screen. He might also try to 'erase' platforms.
  • Strategy: Focus on dodging his attacks and identifying weak points on the page. You'll often need to use your 2D platforming skills to reach a specific spot or activate a mechanism on the page. Look for glowing symbols or exposed areas.
  • Weakness: His weak point is often revealed after a specific attack, usually a brief moment of vulnerability on his 'face' or a magical seal on the page. Attack these quickly.

Phase 2: Real-World Rampage (3D)

Humgrump will burst into the 3D world, becoming a much larger and more imposing threat. Jot will need to utilize his 3D abilities.

  • Attack Patterns: Humgrump will use powerful ground slams, sweeping attacks, and projectile attacks (e.g., throwing objects from the desk). He might also try to trap Jot in specific areas.
  • Strategy: Dodge his physical attacks by rolling or using the Jetpack if available. The key here is often to manipulate the environment. Look for objects you can push, pull, or activate to stun Humgrump or expose his weakness. For example, you might need to knock over a stack of books onto him.
  • Weakness: His weakness in this phase is often his head or a glowing emblem on his body, which becomes vulnerable after he performs a heavy attack or is stunned by an environmental interaction.

Phase 3: The Story's End (Hybrid)

The final phase combines elements of both 2D and 3D, requiring rapid transitions and quick thinking.

  • Attack Patterns: Humgrump will alternate between attacking from the book and the 3D world, often creating scenarios where you need to quickly switch dimensions to avoid damage or create an opening.
  • Strategy: This phase is about timing your world shifts. You might need to enter the book to avoid a 3D attack, then immediately jump out to hit Humgrump's weak point in 3D. Or, you might need to solve a 2D puzzle that creates a vulnerability in the 3D world.
  • Weakness: The ultimate weakness is often tied to the core narrative – restoring the story. You'll likely need to complete a final 'story' puzzle or deliver a finishing blow while he is stunned and exposed in a specific dimension.

Be patient, learn his patterns, and don't be afraid to use any restorative items you've saved. Victory will restore the book's happy ending!
