Jot is the heroic protagonist of The Plucky Squire. His core strength lies in his adaptability, seamlessly transitioning between 2D and 3D forms. As you progress, Jot will acquire new abilities and tools that expand his movement, combat, and puzzle-solving repertoire.

Key Abilities & Progression:
- Basic Attack: Jot's primary melee attack, effective against most standard enemies.
- World Shift: The ability to jump between the 2D storybook and the 3D real world. This is Jot's most fundamental and versatile skill.
- Jetpack: Acquired during a specific mini-challenge, the Jetpack allows for limited flight and extended jumps in the 3D world, opening up new exploration possibilities.
- Boxing Gloves: Used in specific combat scenarios, such as 'boxing badgers'. These often provide a temporary boost to melee damage or a unique attack pattern.
- Environmental Interaction: Jot learns to interact with more complex 3D objects, such as pushing heavy items, activating switches, or using tools found in the environment.
- 2D Platforming Skills: As the story progresses, Jot's 2D movement becomes more refined, allowing for double jumps, wall jumps, and other advanced platforming techniques.
Focus on mastering the World Shift ability, as it is central to nearly every puzzle and combat encounter. Experiment with new items and abilities as soon as you acquire them to understand their full potential.
