Characters & Builds
The Sims 4 offers various tools for character development and building, including a new platform tool for construction. Players can now use rental lots in any world by changing lot types in Manage Worlds. The game also features a new Sentiments system.
For character development, Sims can engage in activities that build skills and complete collections. For example, finishing the Space Prints collection naturally levels a Sim's Logic Skill. This requires purchasing an Observatory for a Sim's home lot. Using the Observatory with a Focused mood may yield better collecting results and faster Logic skill leveling. Space Prints are obtained through three Observatory interactions: Observe the Sky, Stargaze, and Search for the Truth. Enabling a Space Print's Focused aura can provide a moodlet when placed on a wall.
The game also features extensive plant collecting. There are 35 plants in the base game, with additional plants added through various packs:
- Get to Work: 3 plants
- Outdoor Retreat: 10 plants
- Jungle Adventure: 9 plants
- Vampires: 4 plants
- Cats & Dogs: 4 plants
- Seasons: 10 plants
- StrangerVille: 1 plant
- Island Living: 4 plants
- Cottage Living: 14 plants
Plants are collected by finding them in the wild, grafting for rare specimens, or through seed packets purchased via computer, Build/Buy mode, or garden planters.
