The game features a revamped item collection system with 16 base game collections, 5 limited-time event collections, and 26 additional collections from content packs. Collecting is not a skill. Sims can dig rocks for metals, crystals, time capsules (containing MySims trophies), and fossils. Frogs can be collected from fishing spots (Magnolia Blossom Park, Desert Bloom Park), moss-covered logs, or old wells. The Curator aspiration focuses on collecting crystals, fossils, frogs, and elements. The Household Collections interface, found in the upper right corner of a Sim's inventory, tracks collectibles. Sims with the "Appraiser" aspiration reward trait can sell collectibles to the Simsonian Museum for extra money.
