Collectibles & Rare Finds
The Sims 4 offers a vast array of collectibles, providing both engaging gameplay loops and lucrative opportunities for your Sims. From the common Frogs to the elusive Space Rocks, mastering these collections can significantly boost your Sim's household funds and provide unique decorative items. The 'Collection Helper' reward trait, purchasable from the Rewards Store for 2000 Satisfaction Points, is an invaluable tool for any aspiring collector, highlighting the location of nearby collectibles on your Sim's screen.
Initiating Space Exploration
To embark on the thrilling adventure of space exploration and discover the wonders of Aliens and Space Rocks, your Sim will need access to a Rocket Ship. This can be achieved through two primary methods:
- Build a Rocket Ship: Sims with a high Logic skill (Level 10) can build their own Rocket Ship. This requires the 'Rocket Science' skill and significant Simoleons for construction. Once built, it can be upgraded for better performance and safety.
- Purchase a Rocket Ship: Alternatively, Sims can purchase a pre-built Rocket Ship from the Science career rewards or through specific lot traits that offer one.
Once a Rocket Ship is available, your Sim can interact with it to 'Go to Space'. Initially, space exploration is a bit of a gamble, with Sims potentially encountering various celestial phenomena. With upgrades, Sims can improve their chances of finding rare items and even visiting different planets. During space missions, Sims may discover various Space Rocks, some of which are exceptionally rare and valuable. Additionally, there's a chance of encountering alien lifeforms, which can lead to unique social interactions and even the possibility of alien abduction for other Sims.
Valuable Rare Collectibles and Their Worth
While many collectibles are common, certain items within each collection are designated as rare and can fetch a significant price when sold. These rare finds are often the key to rapid wealth accumulation for your Sims.
Examples of Valuable Rare Collectibles:
- Frogs: While most frogs are common, the Death Frog and Alien Frog are rare and can be sold for approximately §150 - §200 each.
- Crystals: Rare crystals like the Death Crystal (found in the Forgotten Grotto or Sylvan Glade, or by mining) can be worth around §1,500 - §2,000. The Element Crystal, when found, can also be highly prized.
- Elements: Similar to crystals, rare elements such as Plutonium and Unobtainium (often found through space exploration or mining rare ore deposits) can be sold for upwards of §1,000 - §1,500 each.
- MySims Trophies: While often found in treasure chests, some MySims Trophies are rarer than others. The MySims King Trophy or MySims Princess Trophy can be sold for §800 - §1,200.
- Space Rocks: The rarest space rocks discovered during rocket expeditions, such as the Unobtainium Ore or specific alien artifacts, can be worth a substantial amount, ranging from §2,000 to §5,000 or even more if they are part of a special event or pack.
To sell collectibles, Sims can simply place them in their inventory and select the 'Sell' option. For larger collections or items that don't have a direct sell option, Sims can also sell them through the 'Sell' interaction on their inventory panel.
