Unique & Special Items (Expansion Packs)

The Sims 4 offers a plethora of unique and special items through its various expansion packs, enhancing gameplay with new collectibles and features. From the spooky additions in the Life and Death expansion to the Irish folklore-inspired items in Enchanted By Nature, each pack introduces distinct elements for players to discover and enjoy.

The Sims 4 Base Game includes 13 types of Collectibles, each with its own gathering methods and rarity. These include Metals, Crystals, Trophies, and Fossils, which are often found by digging. As expansions and game packs are released, more collectible types are added, expanding the possibilities for avid collectors.

Notable expansion pack items and features:

  • Life and Death Expansion (Releases October 31, 2024): Adds a spooky new World, playable Ghosts, and two new Careers.
  • Enchanted By Nature: Live out Fairy dreams in the world of Innisgreen, inspired by Ireland and Irish folklore.
  • Reaper's Rewards Event: This 8-week event offered 7 to 8 free prizes for 6 weeks, including Build Mode items, CAS customization items, a lot trait, potions, and collectibles.
  • Marketplace: An upcoming in-game store for purchasing item packs, similar to previous Sims titles.
  • Tiny Living Stuff: Introduces Murphy Beds and new death types, along with lot bonuses for keeping lot size down with the Tiny Home Lot Type.
  • Sugar Skulls: 9 sugar skulls can be collected. Introduced in Patch 41, these were originally part of the "Day of the Dead" challenge. Now, to trigger Day of the Dead celebrators, use the "Leave Sugar Skull Offering" interaction on a grave at night. Completing this collection grants the "Day of the Dead Celebrant" moodlet, boosting interactions with the Grim Reaper.
  • Frogs: 25 frogs can be collected from logs, ponds, or by breeding. The Life & Death expansion adds one non-breedable frog, bringing the total to 26.
  • Freezer Boneys: 6 Freezer Boneys can be collected from the Reaper's Rewards Event. Introduced in Patch 168, these were obtained by completing weekly quests for event points, unlocking items and prizes claimable through the event tab.
