General Collecting Tips for Rocks and Plants
Collecting Metals, Fossils, Crystals, and MySims Trophies can be challenging due to their variety and low chance of finding missing items. Elements are harvested by sending off Metals and Crystals. Some plants must be found in the wild and introduced to your garden. Follow these tips for efficient collecting:
- Collecting Starts at Home: Check around homes in your own Neighborhood for spawners before venturing out. They may respawn by the time you return.
- Pause the Game: When searching for collectibles, pause the game to prevent your Sim from aging. Scan area borders, then the middle, and look from different angles to spot missed spawners. Spawners are typically around, not on, actual home lots.
- Run a Pattern: Visit several Neighborhoods as your Sim's Energy permits. Pause the game to look for plant sparkles and rock shapes, gathering items from each area.
- Day by Day: Spawners create items about once a day. Visit unexplored Neighborhoods, and specifically Sylvan Glade and Forgotten Grotto (with Level 10 Handiness), as these areas have a higher chance of Rares and some exclusive spawns.
- Visit the Parks: Oasis Springs' Park has yielded up to 8 dig spots on a single visit.
