Seasons & Manhunts
Seasons in The Division 2 are limited-time events that introduce new content, challenges, and rewards, culminating in a multi-stage Manhunt. Each Season typically lasts for several months and offers a unique narrative arc, often revolving around a new rogue agent or faction threat. Participating in Seasons is crucial for acquiring exclusive gear, weapon blueprints, and cosmetic items, as well as advancing your overall SHD Level.
Understanding the Seasonal Structure
Every Season follows a predictable pattern, making it easy to track your progress and plan your activities:
- Seasonal Levels: Progress through 100 Seasonal Levels by earning XP from any in-game activity. Each level grants a reward, ranging from caches and crafting materials to exclusive apparel and weapon skins.
- Global Events: These are rotating, week-long modifiers applied to all activities, offering bonus XP and unique challenges. Activating Global Events is key to maximizing your Seasonal XP gain.
- Leagues: Time-based challenges that test your efficiency in specific activities (e.g., completing missions on Hard difficulty within a time limit, accumulating headshot kills). Reaching higher League tiers grants exclusive patches, trophies, and caches.
- Manhunt: The core narrative of each Season. This multi-stage pursuit involves tracking down and eliminating four Lieutenants before confronting the main Target.
Manhunt Walkthrough: A Step-by-Step Guide
The Manhunt is the highlight of every Season, offering a compelling story and significant rewards. Successfully completing a Manhunt unlocks a new Skill variant for your agent.
Phase 1: Eliminating the Lieutenants
Each Manhunt features four Lieutenants, each with their own set of objectives. These objectives typically involve:
- Control Point Captures: Secure specific Control Points within a designated district. Look for the yellow Manhunt icon on your map.
- Bounties: Complete a series of bounties tied to the Lieutenant. These bounties often feature unique enemy compositions or environmental challenges.
- Mission Replay: Replay specific main missions or strongholds with a Manhunt modifier active. These missions will have a yellow icon next to their name on the map.
Strategy for Lieutenants:
- Prioritize Difficulty: While you can complete objectives on any difficulty, tackling them on Hard or Challenging will yield more XP and better loot, accelerating your Seasonal Level progression.
- Gear Optimization: Ensure your build is optimized for the specific challenges. For example, if a mission involves heavy armored enemies, consider a build with high weapon damage and armor destruction.
- Team Up: Many Manhunt objectives, especially on higher difficulties, are significantly easier with a coordinated team. use matchmaking or play with friends.
- Track Progress: Open your Mega-Map and navigate to the "Seasons" tab to track your current Lieutenant's objectives and overall Manhunt progress.
Phase 2: Confronting the Main Target
Once all four Lieutenants have been eliminated, the main Target's mission will unlock. This is typically a unique, multi-stage mission or a modified Stronghold with increased difficulty and unique boss mechanics.
Key Considerations for the Main Target:
- Recommended Gear Score/SHD Level: Pay attention to the recommended power level for the mission. Ensure your gear is up to par.
- Boss Mechanics: Each main Target has unique abilities and attack patterns. Be prepared to adapt your strategy. For example, some targets might be immune to certain damage types or require specific environmental interactions to expose their weak points.
- Environmental Awareness: use cover effectively and be aware of environmental hazards or opportunities (e.g., explosive barrels, turrets).
- Skill Synergy: Coordinate your Skill usage with your team. A well-placed Reviver Hive can save a run, while a powerful Striker Drone can draw aggro and deal consistent damage.
Seasonal Rewards and Beyond
Completing a Manhunt is not just about the narrative; it's about the rewards:
- New Skill Variant: The primary reward for completing a Manhunt. This new skill can significantly alter your build options and playstyle. For example, the "Repair Trap" skill from a previous Manhunt offered a unique healing utility.
- Exclusive Blueprints: Often, completing specific Manhunt objectives or reaching certain Seasonal Levels will grant blueprints for new weapons or gear sets.
- Exotic Caches: High-tier rewards that have a chance to drop Exotic weapons or armor pieces.
- Cosmetics: Unique apparel, weapon skins, and backpack trophies are often tied to Seasonal Level progression.
Remember, Seasons are designed to keep the game fresh and engaging. Don't be afraid to experiment with new builds and strategies to conquer the challenges they present. Good luck, Agent!
