Current Major Update: Vera 2.0 Expansion
The Vera 2.0 Expansion brought a massive influx of new content, introducing a sprawling desert region, new mechanics, and formidable adversaries. Here's how to make the most of your journey through Vera:
1. Unlocking the Vera Region
To access the Vera region, you must first complete the main story questline up to Chapter 5: "The End of the World." Once this is done, a new quest, "A New Beginning," will automatically appear in your quest log. Follow these steps:
- Initiate Quest: Head to the Spacerift: Astra Shelter. Speak with Mi-a, who will direct you to the new portal.
- Enter Vera: Interact with the large, shimmering portal located near the Astra Shelter. This will transport you directly to Mirroria, the central hub of Vera.
- Initial Exploration: Upon arrival, complete the introductory quests in Mirroria to familiarize yourself with the city and its unique mechanics, such as the Mirroria Gachapon machines.
2. Exploring the Grand Desert
The Grand Desert is a vast and dangerous area. Proper preparation is key to survival and efficient exploration.
- Desert Navigation:
- Sandstorms: Be aware of sudden sandstorms. They reduce visibility and can inflict damage over time. Seek shelter in ruins or use the Sandstorm Shield relic if available.
- Oasis Locations: Mark all Oasis locations on your map. These are safe zones for healing and resupplying. Key Oases include Oasis of Hope and Serene Oasis.
- Mounts: Utilize your fastest mounts, such as the Omnium Beast VII or Chaser, to traverse the large distances quickly.
- New Enemies & Weaknesses:
- Sandworm Alpha: Found primarily in the northern desert. Weak to Flame and Volt damage. Focus on breaking its shield when it burrows.
- Desert Scorpions: Common throughout the desert. Weak to Ice damage. Their tails can inflict poison, so bring plenty of Antidotes.
- Automaton 767: Encountered in abandoned research facilities. Resistant to Physical damage, weak to Volt and Frost. Target its core for critical damage.
- Vera Supply Pods: These new supply pods often require specific puzzles or combat encounters to unlock. Look for glowing mechanisms or nearby enemies guarding them. They frequently contain Dark Crystals, Gold Nuclei, and Vera Exploration Points.
3. Mirroria City and Its Secrets
Mirroria is a bustling cyberpunk city with unique activities and rewards.
- Mirroria Gachapon:
- Location: Various terminals scattered throughout Mirroria, with a main hub in the central plaza.
- Currency: Requires Vera Coins, obtained from daily quests, exploration, and specific mini-games.
- Rewards: Can yield exclusive cosmetics, Red Nuclei, SSR Matrices, and rare upgrade materials. Prioritize the Gachapon that offers Red Nuclei if you're saving for a specific Simulacrum.
- Cybernetic Bounties:
- Access: Available at the Mirroria Bounty Board.
- Objective: Complete specific tasks within Mirroria or the Grand Desert, often involving defeating elite enemies or collecting rare items.
- Rewards: Vera Coins, Data Packs, and Energy Crystal Dust.
- Hidden Quests: Mirroria is rife with hidden quests. Talk to every NPC with a dialogue bubble, especially those in less-trafficked areas. Many lead to unique stories and valuable rewards like Special Vouchers.
4. New Simulacra and Weapons
The Vera 2.0 update introduced several powerful new Simulacra. Keep an eye on the limited-time banners for these:
- Lin (Altered Element): A versatile DPS and support unit. Her weapon, Shadoweave, excels at crowd control and dealing massive damage to multiple targets.
- Strategy: Pair Lin with other elemental damage dealers to maximize her unique Altered resonance. Her skill, Flowing Bloom, creates a field that buffs allies and damages enemies.
- Fenrir (Volt Element): An aggressive close-range DPS. Her weapon, Gleipnir, offers high burst damage and mobility.
- Strategy: Fenrir thrives in quick, aggressive combat. Utilize her skill, Thunderclap, to close gaps and unleash devastating combos. Consider pairing her with a shield breaker for optimal performance.
