Ruins

Ruins are instanced dungeons in Tower of Fantasy that offer valuable rewards upon completion. Each Ruin has a recommended Combat Score (CS) and a specific element associated with it, making team composition and weapon choices crucial for success. There are three difficulty levels for each Ruin: Easy, Normal, and Hard. Completing a Ruin on a higher difficulty will automatically grant rewards for all lower difficulties, so always aim for the highest difficulty you can manage!

You can access Ruins from the Adventure menu, under the "Challenge" tab. They reset weekly, providing a consistent source of materials for character and weapon progression.

General Ruin Strategies

• Match Elemental Weaknesses: Pay close attention to the elemental affinity of the Ruin. Equipping weapons with a strong elemental advantage (e.g., Flame weapons against a Frost Ruin) will significantly boost your damage output and break enemy shields faster.
• Prioritize Shield Breaking: Many elite enemies and bosses in Ruins have shields. Use weapons with high Shatter values to break these shields quickly, stunning enemies and making them vulnerable to sustained damage.
• Utilize Relics: Don't forget your Relics! Relics like the Cybernetic Arm for mobility, Omnium Shield for defense, or Hologram Projector for extra damage can turn the tide of a difficult encounter.
• Dodge and Weave: Enemy attacks in Ruins can be devastating. Master the dodge mechanic to avoid damage and trigger Phantasia, slowing down enemies and granting you a window for free attacks.
• Team Composition (Co-op): While most Ruins can be soloed, co-op play makes them much easier. A balanced team with a tank, healer, and damage dealers will excel. Coordinate your elemental attacks and shield breaks.

Ruin A-01: Astra - Easy Difficulty Walkthrough

Recommended CS: 800

Elemental Affinity: Physical

Rewards: Gold, Weapon Batteries, Matrix Data Packs

Objective 1: Eliminate the Aberrant

1. Upon entering, proceed straight down the path. You'll encounter a small group of Aberrants.
2. Focus fire on the larger Aberrant Brute first, as it deals more damage. Use your highest damage weapons.
3. Once the Brute is down, dispatch the remaining smaller Aberrants.

Objective 2: Activate the Pressure Plates

1. After clearing the first group, a gate will open. Move forward into a larger chamber.
2. You'll notice two glowing pressure plates on the ground. To activate them, you need to place heavy objects on them.
3. Look for the large, dark grey "Energy Blocks" scattered around the room. There are usually more than enough.
4. Pick up an Energy Block (default key 'F' on PC) and carry it to one of the pressure plates. Drop it on the plate.
5. Repeat for the second pressure plate. Once both are activated, a new path will open.

Objective 3: Defeat the Ruin Guard

1. Follow the newly opened path. You will enter a boss arena.
2. The boss for A-01 Easy is a Ruin Guard. This enemy has a large shield.
3. Strategy:
   • Immediately switch to your highest Shatter weapon (e.g., Rosy Edge or Thunderblades).
   • Focus all your attacks on breaking its shield. Once the shield is broken, the Ruin Guard will be stunned and take increased damage.
   • During its stun, unleash your most powerful discharge skills and weapon combos.
   • The Ruin Guard has a few predictable attacks: a ground pound and a laser sweep. Dodge these attacks to avoid damage and trigger Phantasia.
   • Repeat the shield-breaking and damage phase until the Ruin Guard is defeated.

Completion and Rewards

Once the Ruin Guard is defeated, the Ruin will be marked as complete. You will automatically receive your rewards, including:

• Gold: Essential for upgrading equipment and buying items.
• Weapon Batteries: Used to level up your weapons.
• Matrix Data Packs: Used to level up your Matrices.

Ruin B-02: Banges - Normal Difficulty Walkthrough

Recommended CS: 3,500

Elemental Affinity: Volt

Rewards: Gold, Weapon Batteries, Matrix Data Packs, Advanced Module, Booster Module

Objective 1: Navigate the Laser Grid

1. The entrance leads to a corridor filled with moving laser grids. Touching a laser will deal damage and reset your position.
2. Strategy: Observe the laser patterns carefully. There are usually safe zones or brief openings.
3. Use your dash/dodge ability to quickly move through gaps. Relics like the Jetpack can also be useful for flying over sections, but be mindful of its cooldown.
4. Take your time and don't rush. Patience is key here.

Objective 2: Defeat the Automated Turrets and Aberrants

1. After the laser grid, you'll enter a room with several Automated Turrets and Aberrant Warriors.
2. Strategy: Prioritize the Automated Turrets first. They have ranged attacks that can quickly chip away at your health. Use ranged weapons or burst them down quickly.
3. The Aberrant Warriors have moderate shields. Use a Volt weapon (if you have one, to match the Ruin's affinity) or a high Shatter weapon to break their shields.
4. Keep moving to avoid turret fire and the Aberrant Warriors' melee attacks.

Objective 3: Boss - Frost Bot

1. Proceed to the final arena where you'll face the Frost Bot. This boss has strong Frost attacks and a formidable shield.
2. Strategy:
   • Elemental Advantage: Equip Flame weapons (e.g., Scythe of the Crow, Dual EM Stars) to exploit its Frost weakness. This will significantly speed up shield breaking and damage.
   • Shield Break: Focus on breaking its shield with your highest Shatter weapons. The Frost Bot's shield is quite durable.
   • Attack Patterns:
     • Ice Barrage: The Frost Bot will launch multiple ice projectiles. Dodge continuously to avoid these.
     • Ground Slam: It will occasionally slam the ground, creating a small AoE. This is usually telegraphed.
     • Frost Breath: A cone-shaped attack that deals continuous Frost damage. Move out of the cone immediately.
   • Phantasia: Utilize Phantasia whenever possible to get free hits and avoid damage.
   • Relic Use: Consider using the Hologram Projector for extra damage during shield breaks or the Magnetic Pulse to interrupt its attacks.

Completion and Rewards

Defeating the Frost Bot on Normal difficulty will grant you:

• Gold
• Weapon Batteries
• Matrix Data Packs
• Advanced Module: Used for weapon advancement.
• Booster Module: Used for Matrix advancement.
