Mentorship System
The Mentorship System in Tower of Fantasy is a fantastic way for new players (Apprentices) to learn the ropes from experienced veterans (Mentors) while both parties earn valuable rewards. This system fosters community and provides structured guidance, making the early game experience much smoother for newcomers and offering incentives for seasoned players to help out.
Becoming a Mentor or Apprentice
To access the Mentorship System, navigate to the Social menu (usually accessed via the main UI or by pressing 'N' on PC) and select the 'Mentor' tab. Here, you can choose to become either a Mentor or an Apprentice, depending on your current progression.
Apprentice Requirements:
- Level: Must be below Level 60.
- Story Progress: Must not have completed Chapter 5 of the main story.
- Active Apprenticeships: Can only have one Mentor at a time.
Mentor Requirements:
- Level: Must be Level 60 or higher.
- Story Progress: Must have completed Chapter 5 of the main story.
- Active Apprentices: Can mentor up to three Apprentices simultaneously.
Forming a Mentorship
Once you meet the requirements, you can either search for a partner or accept an invitation. It's often beneficial to communicate with potential Mentors/Apprentices beforehand, perhaps through World Chat or your Crew, to ensure compatible playtimes and goals.
- Open the Mentor Interface: Access the 'Mentor' tab from the Social menu.
- Find a Partner:
- As an Apprentice: You can browse a list of available Mentors or accept an invitation from a Mentor.
- As a Mentor: You can browse a list of available Apprentices or send an invitation to a specific player.
- Send/Accept Invitation: Once you've found a suitable partner, send an invitation. The other player must accept for the mentorship to be established.
- Confirm Mentorship: A confirmation message will appear once the bond is formed. You'll now see each other listed in your respective Mentor/Apprentice panels.
Mentorship Quests and Rewards
The core of the Mentorship System revolves around completing daily and weekly quests. These quests are designed to guide Apprentices through essential game content while providing rewards for both parties.
Apprentice Quests:
Apprentices will find a list of specific tasks under the 'Mentor' tab. These often include:
- Daily Logins: Simply logging in each day.
- Joint Operations: Completing specific Joint Operation dungeons with your Mentor. For example, clearing a "Dimensional Trials" or "Frontier Clash" with your Mentor.
- World Bosses: Defeating World Bosses like Apophis or Sobek with your Mentor.
- Story Progression: Advancing through the main story chapters.
- Exploration: Discovering new areas or collecting specific exploration points in regions like Aesperia or Vera.
- Resource Collection: Gathering materials like Rockcore or Volcanic Ash.
Apprentice Rewards: Completing these quests grants Apprentices valuable resources such as Dark Crystals, Gold, Weapon Augment Materials, and Matrix Data Packs. These are crucial for early-game progression.
Mentor Quests:
Mentors primarily earn rewards when their Apprentices complete quests. Additionally, Mentors have their own set of tasks:
- Guiding Apprentices: Participating in Joint Operations, World Bosses, or other activities alongside your Apprentices.
- Apprentice Progress: Earning points as your Apprentices complete their individual tasks.
- Daily Interactions: Logging in and interacting with your Apprentices.
Mentor Rewards: Mentors receive Mentor Points, which can be exchanged in the Mentor Shop for exclusive items. These include Red Nuclei (a highly sought-after gacha currency), Special Vouchers, Gold Nuclei, and unique cosmetic items like the "Guiding Star" title or exclusive avatars. The Mentor Shop is accessible directly from the Mentor interface.
Ending a Mentorship
A mentorship can be dissolved in a few ways:
- Apprentice Graduation: An Apprentice automatically graduates when they reach Level 60 or complete Chapter 5 of the main story. This is the ideal way for a mentorship to conclude, as both parties receive bonus rewards upon graduation.
- Manual Termination: Either the Mentor or the Apprentice can manually terminate the mentorship at any time through the Mentor interface. Be aware that manually terminating a mentorship before graduation will forfeit any graduation rewards.
- Inactivity: If either party is inactive for an extended period (typically 7 days), the mentorship may be automatically dissolved by the system.
Upon successful graduation, both Mentor and Apprentice receive a significant bonus of Dark Crystals and Mentor Points/Gold, making it highly beneficial to see the mentorship through to completion.
Tips for a Successful Mentorship
- Communication is Key: Use in-game chat or external platforms (Discord, etc.) to coordinate playtimes and quest objectives. A good Mentor will actively check in with their Apprentices.
- Prioritize Joint Activities: Many quests require both Mentor and Apprentice to be in the same party. Focus on these first to maximize efficiency.
- Share Knowledge: Mentors should offer advice on character building, elemental effects, exploration, and general gameplay strategies. Apprentices shouldn't hesitate to ask questions!
- Be Patient: Apprentices are still learning. Mentors should be understanding and guide them through challenging content.
- Utilize the Map and Database: When guiding Apprentices to specific locations or resources, refer to the in-game map or external databases (like those found on ) for precise coordinates and drop locations. For example, if an Apprentice needs Firecore, guide them to areas with fire-element enemies in Aesperia's Crown region.
