Creating your character is one of the most exciting parts of starting Ultima Online. You'll begin by choosing your character's gender, race (typically Human, Elf, or Gargoyle depending on the shard and expansions), and appearance. More importantly, you'll allocate your starting skill points and attributes. For new players, it's often recommended to choose a template that aligns with a common starting profession, such as a Warrior (Swordsmanship, Tactics, Anatomy) or a Mage (Magery, Evaluating Intelligence, Meditation). You'll have a limited number of points, so choose wisely. You can also select a starting city, which determines where you'll first appear in the world. Consider a city like Britain or Vesper for a relatively safe starting experience with access to many vendors and trainers.
