Legacy of the Moonspell - Enemy Strategies

The Legacy of the Moonspell DLC introduces several new and challenging enemies to Mt. Inferno, each requiring specific strategies to overcome. Understanding their attack patterns and weaknesses is crucial for survival.

The Fire Imps are an early-game nuisance. They appear in swarms and launch small, rapid fireballs. Their primary threat is overwhelming you with sheer numbers and constant projectile spam. To counter them, prioritize weapons with good area-of-effect damage. The Garlic is excellent for clearing them out at close range, while the King Bible can provide a protective barrier. Weapons like the Magic Wand, especially when evolved, can also pick them off effectively from a distance.

As you progress, you'll encounter the Hellfire. These larger, more robust enemies are characterized by their powerful, slow-moving fire projectiles that deal significant damage. They often appear in smaller groups but pose a much greater individual threat. Your best bet against the Hellfire is to focus on high-damage, single-target weapons or evolutions that can quickly burst them down. The Axe, evolved into the Death Axe, or the Runetracer can be effective. Maintaining distance and using evasive maneuvers is also key.

The Shadows are elusive enemies that can phase in and out of existence, making them difficult to target. They often attack with quick, short-range bursts. Their unpredictability is their main strength. Builds that incorporate area-of-effect weapons that don't require precise targeting, such as the Santa Water or Lightning Ring, are highly effective. The Phieraggi evolution can also lock onto them reliably once they become visible.

The Golems are slow but incredibly durable enemies that hit hard. They are often found in the later stages of Mt. Inferno and can act as mobile walls, blocking your path and dealing massive damage. Your strategy here should be to kite them effectively, using weapons that can deal damage over time or have a wide area of effect. The Valkyrie Turner, with its slowing effect, can help keep them at bay, while the Phieraggi can chip away at their health from a safe distance. Patience and consistent damage output are vital when facing these behemoths.
