Power-Up & Arcana Tier Lists
Welcome, fellow survivors! This section delves deep into the strategic heart of Vampire Survivors: Power-Ups and Arcanas. Mastering these choices is paramount to surviving the endless hordes and achieving those coveted 30-minute runs. We'll break down the best-in-slot options, explain their synergies, and guide you through optimal acquisition paths.
I. Power-Up Tier List: Permanent Enhancements
Power-Ups are permanent stat boosts purchased with gold from the main menu. Prioritizing these early on will dramatically improve your runs. Remember, you can always refund Power-Ups for a gold cost, allowing for experimentation, but aim for efficiency!
S-Tier: Essential for Every Build
- Might: Increases all weapon damage. This is a foundational Power-Up. Max it out early.
- Armor: Reduces incoming damage. Crucial for survivability, especially in later stages.
- Growth: Increases experience gain. Faster leveling means more weapon evolutions and stat boosts. Prioritize this after a few points in Might.
- Greed: Increases gold gain. More gold means more Power-Ups, faster. Invest in this once you feel comfortable with your early survival.
A-Tier: Strong & Highly Recommended
- Amount: Increases the number of projectiles for most weapons. Fantastic for area clear and damage.
- Duration: Increases the active time of certain weapon effects (e.g., Santa Water, Garlic). Excellent for sustained damage and crowd control.
- Area: Increases the size of weapon effects. Crucial for clearing large groups of enemies, especially with weapons like King Bible or Garlic.
- Revival: Grants an extra life. A safety net that can turn a losing run into a winning one.
B-Tier: Situational or Late-Game Boosts
- Cooldown: Reduces weapon cooldowns. While good, often less impactful than Amount or Area for early game. Becomes more potent with specific builds.
- MoveSpeed: Increases character movement speed. Useful for dodging and collecting experience, but not a top priority for pure power.
- Magnet: Increases pickup radius. Great for quality of life and experience collection, but not directly combat-enhancing.
- Luck: Increases the chance of finding better items and chests. A good late-game investment once core Power-Ups are maxed.
C-Tier: Low Priority
- Hurry: Speeds up game time. Generally not recommended unless you're specifically trying to rush a run or unlock certain achievements.
II. Arcana Tier List: Game-Changing Modifiers
Arcanas are powerful run-specific modifiers unlocked by finding the Randomazzo relic. You gain access to your first Arcana slot at 11 minutes, a second at 21 minutes, and a third at 31 minutes (if you survive that long!). Choosing the right Arcana can completely redefine your build.
S-Tier: Build-Defining & Universally Strong
- XV - Disco of Gold: Triggers a Gold Fever whenever you pick up a coin. This Arcana is an absolute gold farm powerhouse, especially when paired with Greed and weapons that drop coins (e.g., Gold Ring, Stone Mask). Essential for unlocking all Power-Ups quickly.
- XX - Silent Old Sanctuary: Grants bonus Might, Projectile Speed, and Duration when standing still. This Arcana transforms stationary builds (e.g., Pugnala, Concetta, or anyone with a strong Area/Duration weapon like King Bible or Santa Water) into unstoppable forces.
- IV - Awake: Grants a significant amount of Revival, Armor, and Might. A fantastic defensive and offensive boost, especially for characters who struggle with early survivability or those aiming for endless runs.
- VI - Sarabande of Healing: Heals you for a percentage of damage dealt. This Arcana makes you incredibly tanky, especially with high-damage, high-projectile weapons. Synergizes well with Garlic and Soul Eater.
A-Tier: Excellent & Synergistic
- I - Game Killer: Reduces weapon cooldowns significantly. A strong choice for any build, especially those relying on rapid-fire weapons or wanting to maximize weapon uptime.
- III - Tragic End: When an enemy is defeated, it explodes, dealing damage to nearby enemies. Excellent for clearing large groups, especially when combined with high-Area weapons.
- V - Chaos in the Dark Night: Projectiles pierce an additional enemy and gain bonus damage after piercing. Fantastic for weapons that already pierce (e.g., Magic Wand, Runetracer) or to give piercing to others.
- X - Beginning: Grants bonus Might, Area, and Duration to your starting weapon. A powerful boost for characters whose starting weapon is a core part of their build (e.g., Garlic for Poe, Axe for Gennaro).
B-Tier: Niche or Good with Specific Builds
- II - Twilight Requiem: Increases the duration of weapon effects and grants a chance for them to explode upon expiring. Good for weapons with lingering effects like Santa Water or King Bible.
- VII - Iron Blue Will: Grants bonus Projectile Speed and Might to projectiles that bounce. Excellent for Runetracer, but less impactful for other weapons.
- VIII - Mad Groove: Pulls all items, experience gems, and pickups towards you every two minutes. A fantastic quality-of-life Arcana, especially on larger maps or when trying to quickly evolve weapons.
- IX - Divine Bloodline: Grants bonus Armor and Might when you take damage. Can be good for tankier builds, but less reliable than Awake or Sarabande of Healing.
C-Tier: Rarely Optimal
- XI - Waltz of Pearls: Grants bonus Projectile Speed and Duration to projectiles that orbit you. Only truly useful for weapons like the King Bible or Garlic.
- XII - Out of Bounds: Increases projectile speed and reduces cooldowns for weapons that fire in a straight line. Very specific and often outperformed by more general cooldown or projectile speed Arcanas.
