Weapon & Item Tier Lists

Welcome, fellow survivors! Navigating the hordes of the night requires more than just quick reflexes; it demands strategic weapon and item selection. This comprehensive tier list will guide you through the best armaments and passive boosts to maximize your survival and damage output. Remember, while these tiers offer a strong baseline, synergy and personal playstyle can always shift the meta!

S-Tier Weapons: The Unstoppable Force

These weapons are game-changers, capable of clearing screens and evolving into devastating forms that dominate late-game challenges. Prioritize these whenever possible.

  • Axe (Evolved: Death Axe): The Axe starts strong with its wide, arcing attack, but its true power unlocks with the Candelabrador passive item. The Death Axe is a screen-clearing monster, especially effective against dense enemy formations and bosses. Focus on upgrading its Area and Might.
  • King Bible (Evolved: Unholy Vespers): A defensive and offensive powerhouse. The King Bible creates a rotating shield of holy books that damages and knocks back enemies. Paired with the Spellbinder passive, Unholy Vespers becomes an impenetrable, high-damage vortex, making you virtually untouchable. Prioritize Duration and Area.
  • Garlic (Evolved: Soul Eater): While often underestimated early on, Garlic's evolution, Soul Eater, is crucial for survivability and consistent damage. It creates an aura that damages and knocks back enemies, and with the Pummarola passive, Soul Eater also grants significant HP regeneration, making it a cornerstone of any tanky build. Focus on Area and Might.
  • Magic Wand (Evolved: Holy Wand): A reliable damage dealer that fires projectiles at the nearest enemy. Its evolution, Holy Wand, achieved with the Empty Tome passive, turns it into a rapid-fire, high-damage weapon that can melt bosses and elite enemies. Focus on Amount and Cooldown.

A-Tier Weapons: Excellent & Reliable

These weapons are consistently strong and can form the backbone of many successful builds. They might not be as universally dominant as S-tier, but they are still highly recommended.

  • Cross (Evolved: Heaven Sword): The Cross is a boomerang-like projectile that pierces enemies. With the Clover passive, it evolves into the Heaven Sword, a larger, more powerful boomerang that can clear entire lines of enemies. Great for crowd control and sustained damage. Prioritize Amount and Might.
  • Whip (Evolved: Bloody Tear): A solid starter weapon for many characters, the Whip attacks in a wide arc. Its evolution, Bloody Tear, achieved with the Hollow Heart passive, adds lifesteal to its attacks, significantly boosting your survivability. Excellent for aggressive playstyles. Focus on Area and Might.
  • Runetracer (Evolved: No Future): These bouncing projectiles are fantastic for hitting multiple enemies and dealing consistent damage. Its evolution, No Future, with the Armor passive, makes the projectiles explode on impact, adding even more destructive power. Great for enclosed spaces. Prioritize Amount and Speed.

B-Tier Weapons: Situational & Supportive

These weapons can be effective in specific builds or when you need a particular utility. They might not be your primary damage dealers but offer valuable support.

  • Fire Wand (Evolved: Hellfire): Fires a fireball that pierces enemies. With the Spinach passive, it evolves into Hellfire, a larger, more damaging fireball. Good for focused damage but can be less reliable for crowd control than other options.
  • Knives (Evolved: Thousand Edge): Rapid-fire projectiles that target the nearest enemy. With the Bracer passive, it evolves into Thousand Edge, a barrage of knives that can quickly dispatch single targets. Less effective against large groups.

S-Tier Passive Items: The Essential Boosts

These passive items are almost universally beneficial and should be prioritized whenever they appear. They offer crucial stat boosts or enable powerful weapon evolutions.

  • Empty Tome: Reduces weapon cooldown. Absolutely essential for maximizing damage output from almost any weapon, especially those with high damage but slow attack speed. Also evolves Magic Wand.
  • Spellbinder: Increases weapon duration. Critical for weapons like the King Bible and Runetracer, extending their active time and area of effect. Also evolves King Bible.
  • Candelabrador: Increases weapon area. Makes your attacks hit more enemies, significantly improving crowd control and overall damage. Also evolves Axe.
  • Spinach: Increases weapon might. A straightforward damage boost that benefits all your offensive weapons.

A-Tier Passive Items: Strong & Synergistic

These passive items offer significant advantages and synergize well with many builds. Pick them up when available, especially if they complement your chosen weapons.

  • Pummarola: Grants HP regeneration. Invaluable for survivability, especially when paired with Garlic's evolution. Also evolves Garlic.
  • Hollow Heart: Increases max HP. More health means more room for error, a solid defensive choice. Also evolves Whip.
  • Clover: Increases luck. Improves your chances of critical hits, better item drops, and more beneficial events. Also evolves Cross.
  • Duplicator: Increases weapon amount. Adds more projectiles or instances of your weapon's effect, significantly boosting damage and coverage.

B-Tier Passive Items: Niche & Situational

These items can be useful in specific circumstances or to round out a build, but they are generally less impactful than higher-tier options.

  • Bracer: Increases projectile speed. Can be good for weapons like Knives or Runetracer, but less universally impactful. Also evolves Knives.
  • Wings: Increases movement speed. Useful for dodging and repositioning, but less of a priority than offensive or defensive stats.
  • Armor: Reduces incoming damage. A decent defensive option, especially in later stages, but often outshone by HP regeneration or evasion. Also evolves Runetracer.

By understanding these tier lists and the synergies between weapons and passive items, you'll be well-equipped to conquer the night and achieve those coveted 30-minute runs!
