Relic Unlock Requirements
Relics are powerful artifacts that unlock new game mechanics, characters, and stages, fundamentally changing your Vampire Survivors experience. Unlocking them often requires specific actions within certain stages, sometimes under challenging conditions. This section details the precise steps needed to acquire each relic, ensuring you don't miss out on these crucial upgrades.
Map Relics
These relics provide invaluable navigational tools, making it easier to locate items and objectives within stages.
- Map (Dairy Plant):
- Location: Dairy Plant.
- Strategy: Navigate directly south from your starting position. The Map relic is typically located in a small, distinct alcove or room. You'll often see a green arrow on your screen pointing towards its general direction once you're close enough. Be prepared for increased enemy density as you approach.
- Benefit: Displays the entire stage layout, including item locations and points of interest, on your pause screen map.
- Magic Banger (Gallo Tower):
- Location: Gallo Tower.
- Strategy: Head north from your starting point. The Magic Banger is usually found in a small, isolated room or platform. The path to it can be narrow and heavily guarded by enemies. Focus on area-of-effect weapons to clear a path.
- Benefit: Unlocks the music selection option in the main menu, allowing you to choose your preferred soundtrack for each run.
Gameplay Modifying Relics
These relics introduce new gameplay elements or alter existing ones, offering fresh challenges and opportunities.
- Grim Grimoire (Inlaid Library):
- Location: Inlaid Library.
- Strategy: Move either left or right from your starting position. The Grim Grimoire is found at a significant distance from the center, often past several waves of challenging enemies. It's usually situated on a pedestal in a large, open area. Consider using weapons with good range and crowd control.
- Benefit: Unlocks the "Arcanas" menu, allowing you to select powerful passive buffs at specific intervals during a run.
- Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane (Moongolow):
- Location: Moongolow.
- Strategy: This relic is unique. You must survive for 15 minutes in Moongolow. After 15 minutes, the stage will transition, and you will be transported to a special area. The Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane will be waiting for you there. Be warned, the enemies in Moongolow are significantly tougher than in earlier stages.
- Benefit: Unlocks the "Spells" menu, allowing you to input specific codes for various effects and unlocks.
- Glass Fandango (Lake Foscari):
- Location: Lake Foscari.
- Strategy: From your starting point, head directly west. You will encounter a large, frozen lake area. The Glass Fandango is located on a small island in the middle of this lake. You'll need to navigate around or through dense enemy formations to reach it.
- Benefit: Unlocks the "Challenge Stages" menu, providing access to stages with unique rules and increased difficulty.
Character Unlocking Relics
Some relics are directly tied to unlocking new powerful survivors.
- Yellow Sign (Holy Forbidden):
- Location: Holy Forbidden.
- Strategy: To access Holy Forbidden, you must first acquire all six standard relics (Map, Magic Banger, Grim Grimoire, Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, Glass Fandango, and the Randomazzo). Once you have these, enter Moongolow with a non-secret character. Survive for 14 minutes and 30 seconds, then collect the "Rosary" item that appears. This will instantly kill all enemies and transport you to Holy Forbidden. In Holy Forbidden, simply follow the linear path, avoiding the spectral enemies, until you reach the Yellow Sign at the end.
- Benefit: Unlocks the ability to see hidden items and secrets in all stages, and is a prerequisite for unlocking certain secret characters.
