I. Exdash Exdeath

Exdash Exdeath is a spectral figure with a penchant for luck and a starting weapon that can turn the tide of battle. Unlocking them is a matter of precise timing and a bit of a gamble.

  • Step 1: Locate the "Forbidden Scroll"
    • Begin a run on any stage. The Inlaid Library is often recommended due to its open layout.
    • Play until you collect at least one Clover (increases Luck) and one Crown (increases Experience gain). While not strictly required for the scroll, these items will aid in the subsequent steps.
    • Keep an eye out for a rare, glowing, blue-green scroll that occasionally spawns on the ground. This is the "Forbidden Scroll." It has a very low spawn rate, so persistence is key. There's no fixed location; it appears randomly.
  • Step 2: Input the Konami Code
    • Once you have picked up the Forbidden Scroll, do not move or pick up any other items.
    • Immediately input the classic Konami Code: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Enter (on keyboard) or the equivalent directional inputs and face buttons on your controller.
    • If successful, a distinct sound effect will play, and Exdash Exdeath will be unlocked.

II. Toastie

Toastie, a fiery, diminutive character, is arguably one of the most challenging secrets to uncover due to its unique and fleeting unlock condition. Prepare for a quick reaction time!

  • Step 1: Defeat a Stalker or Drowner
    • Start a run on the Dairy Plant stage.
    • Play until the 10-minute mark. At this point, the "Stalker" (a large, green, shadowy figure) will begin to spawn.
    • Alternatively, on the Gallo Tower stage, the "Drowner" (a large, blue, watery figure) spawns around the 15-minute mark.
    • Your goal is to defeat either of these mini-bosses. They are formidable, so ensure you have a strong build with evolved weapons like the Holy Wand (Magic Wand + Empty Tome) or Hellfire (Fire Wand + Spinach).
  • Step 2: The Fleeting Glimpse
    • Immediately after defeating a Stalker or Drowner, a small, pixelated image of Toastie will flash on the bottom right corner of your screen for approximately one second.
    • During this incredibly brief window, you must press the Down Arrow key (or D-pad Down on controller) and the Enter key (or Start/Options button on controller) simultaneously.
    • If you succeed, Toastie will be unlocked. If you miss the window, you'll need to defeat another Stalker or Drowner to get another chance.

III. Leda

  • Step 1: Navigate to Gallo Tower
    • Unlock and select the Gallo Tower stage.
    • Your objective is to travel downwards. The map in Gallo Tower scrolls vertically.
  • Step 2: Descend into Darkness
    • Keep moving your character downwards, past the usual boundaries of the stage.
    • You will notice the screen getting progressively darker, and the music will change to a more ominous tone.
    • Continue descending for a significant amount of time. This can take several minutes of continuous downward movement.
  • Step 3: Confront Leda
    • Eventually, you will reach an area of complete darkness where a unique boss, Leda, will appear.
    • Leda is a powerful enemy with high health and damaging attacks. Prepare for a tough fight. Weapons with good area coverage and sustained damage, such as the Vandalier (Peachone + Ebony Wings) or the Laurel (evolved with Metaglio Left and Gold Ring), are highly effective.
