Secret Stage Unlocks

Beyond the standard progression, Vampire Survivors hides several challenging and rewarding secret stages. Unlocking these requires specific actions, often involving unique item combinations or character choices. This section will guide you through the precise steps to uncover these hidden battlegrounds.

Moongolow

Moongolow is a mystical stage that serves as a gateway to further secrets. Its unlock condition is straightforward but often overlooked by new players.

• Unlock Condition: Unlock Hyper Mode for all five original stages.
• Walkthrough:
  1. Play through each of the initial five stages: Inlaid Library, Dairy Plant, Gallo Tower, Cappella Magna, and Green Acres.
  2. In each of these stages, survive for 15 minutes. This will cause a boss to spawn.
  3. Defeat the boss in each stage. Upon its defeat, you will unlock Hyper Mode for that specific stage.
  4. Once Hyper Mode is unlocked for all five original stages, Moongolow will become available on your stage selection screen.
• Strategy Tip: Focus on building a strong area-of-effect (AoE) weapon and a reliable defensive passive item early in each run to ensure survival against the 15-minute boss. The King Bible (evolved into Unholy Vespers) and Garlic (evolved into Soul Eater) are excellent choices for early game dominance.

Holy Forbidden

The Holy Forbidden is not a traditional stage but rather a unique, one-time experience that leads to a crucial unlock. Accessing it requires a specific character and a journey through Moongolow.

• Unlock Condition: Survive for 14 minutes in Moongolow as a non-secret character.
• Walkthrough:
  1. Select any non-secret character (e.g., Antonio, Imelda, Gennaro, Poe, etc.).
  2. Start a run on the Moongolow stage.
  3. Survive for 14 minutes. At this point, the stage will undergo a dramatic visual change, and all enemies will disappear.
  4. A large, glowing blue arrow will appear, pointing towards the top of the screen. Follow this arrow.
  5. Continue walking in the direction indicated by the arrow. You will eventually transition into the Holy Forbidden.
  6. In the Holy Forbidden, simply walk to the right. There are no enemies, only a path leading to a single item: the Yellow Sign.
  7. Pick up the Yellow Sign. This will immediately end the run and unlock the Yellow Sign as a permanent relic, allowing you to see hidden items in all stages.
• Strategy Tip: Since you only need to survive for 14 minutes, focus on defensive items and survivability. The Laurel and Armor passive are highly recommended to ensure you reach the 14-minute mark without issue.

Cappella Magna (Inverted)

The Inverted version of Cappella Magna offers a significantly harder challenge with unique enemy spawns and a different visual aesthetic. It's unlocked after a specific achievement related to the Yellow Sign.

• Unlock Condition: Acquire the Yellow Sign relic.
• Walkthrough:
  1. Follow the steps above to unlock and acquire the Yellow Sign from the Holy Forbidden.
  2. Once the Yellow Sign is permanently unlocked, return to the main menu.
  3. Navigate to the stage selection screen.
  4. Select Cappella Magna. You will now see an option to play the "Inverted" version of the stage.
• Strategy Tip: Inverted stages are considerably more difficult. Prepare for increased enemy density, faster enemy movement, and potentially different enemy types. Strong weapon evolutions like Vandalier (Peachone + Ebony Wings) and Death Spiral (Axe + Candelabrador) are crucial for success. Consider bringing a character with strong starting weapons or passive bonuses.
