Essential Beginner Tips
To thrive in Warframe, focus on completing missions and objectives to gain experience for your Warframe. Healing downed teammates also contributes to your progress. Understanding mission types and utilizing your Codex Scanner for hidden objects are key early strategies.
Warframe offers a variety of mission types to engage with. Gaining experience for your Warframe is achieved through:
- Completing missions
- Healing downed teammates
- Completing objectives
The game features various scannable objects that provide lore and utility. These include:
- Cephalon Fragments: These are hidden data blocks found in missions, appearing as blue quadruple diamonds on the mini-map with loot radar mods. Scanning them unlocks lore about the Origin System's Factions, Characters, and Planets. Each navigable planet, moon, or location (excluding Kuva Fortress) has 2-3 fragments, requiring 3-7 scans to complete. They spawn randomly in most missions, but not in Defense, Interception, or Archwing missions.
- Objects: Static or miscellaneous items that can be scanned with the Codex Scanner or have object-based health. Examples include Storage Containers, Resource Caches, Kuva Siphons, Kuria, and Thousand-Year Fish.
Lore fragments also reveal details about the game's universe:
- Wildlife: Most current wildlife originated from Earth lifeforms, genetically modified by the Orokin for war, agriculture, or pets. These adapted species now roam natural environments.
- Earth Settlements: Grineer outposts on Earth are found amidst towering forest canopies, sustained by rich freshwater reserves. These settlements show signs of long occupation, overgrown with roots, moss, and vegetation.
- Venus: The Corpus practice their craft hidden within the mountainous peaks of Venus.
