Companions
Companions in Warframe are loyal allies that fight alongside Tenno, offering support, utility, and sometimes even offensive capabilities. These partners range from robotic Sentinels and MOAs to loyal Kubrows and Kavats, each with their own unique abilities, modding potential, and combat roles. Choosing and customizing the right companion can sificantly enhance a player's effectiveness in combat.
Sentinels are robotic drones that hover around the player, providing passive buffs or active abilities. They can heal the player, draw enemy fire, or even pick up loot. MOAs are more advanced robotic companions, often featuring specialized functions like crowd control or enhanced damage output. Kubrows and Kavats are bio-organic companions, offering a more aggressive playstyle with abilities that can debuff enemies, buff allies, or deal direct damage.
Key types of companions include:
- Sentinels: Carrier, Djinn, Shade, Helios, etc.
- MOAs: Various models with unique functions.
- Kubrows: Huras, Chesa, Sahasa, Raksa, etc.
- Kavats: Smeeta, Adarza, Nychus.
Each companion can be equipped with a variety of mods that augment their performance, allowing for deep customization. You can tailor their companion's abilities to suit their Warframe's playstyle or the specific challenges of a mission. For example, a Sentinel might be modded for maximum loot pickup, while a Kubrow could be specialized for stealth or crowd control.
Acquiring companions usually involves obtaining their blueprints from the Market or specific quests, then crafting them in the Foundry. Their care and progression often involve specific resources and gameplay loops, such as feeding your Kubrow or upgrading your Sentinel's weapon. Investing in companions is a rewarding aspect of Warframe, providing dedicated allies for your journey through the Origin System.
