This sprawling vessel serves as your hub for everything from gearing up and managing your inventory to accepting missions and interacting with the vital characters who will aid your fight against the forces of Chaos. Understanding its layout and the services it offers is crucial for survival and progression.
The Mourningstar is more than just a menu screen; it's a living, breathing (or at least functioning) warship. you'll unlock new vendors, facilities, and even cosmetic customizations for your personal quarters. Take the time to explore its various decks and speak with the NPCs. Each character offers unique services and lore, enriching your understanding of the ongoing conflict and your place within it.
Key areas within the Mourningstar include:
- The Barracks: Here you'll find your character's personal space, where you can manage your inventory, inspect your gear, and change your appearance. It's also where you'll receive your initial briefings and sometimes personal quests.
- The Armoury: This is where you'll spend your hard-earned Ordo Gold and Plasteel. Vendors like the General Goods vendor and the Armoury Exchange offer a rotating selection of weapons, curios, and crafting materials. Keep an eye on their stock for upgrades and rare finds.
- The Shrine of the Emperor: A place for reflection and, more importantly, for spending your accumulated blessings. Blessings are powerful buffs that can be applied to your weapons and curios, sificantly enhancing their effectiveness in combat.
- The Mission Board: The central hub for selecting your next deployment. Mission difficulties, modifiers, and rewards are clearly displayed, allowing you to choose the challenges that best suit your current gear and skill level.
- The Commissary: This is where you'll find the Quartermaster, who offers daily and weekly assments. Completing these assments grants valuable rewards, including currency, experience, and unique cosmetics.
Don't neglect the social aspects of the Mourningstar. Interacting with characters like Sister Auden, the General Goods vendor, or Zola, the Armoury Exchange manager, can unlock new dialogue, lore snippets, and even special vendor discounts or items.
