Game World & Locations
Welcome, resistance fighter, to the guide for navigating the treacherous, Nazi-occupied world of Wolfenstein: The New Order. This section will arm you with the knowledge to traverse each major location, uncover its secrets, and survive the relentless oppression. Remember, stealth and resourcefulness are your greatest assets, but don't shy away from unleashing pure, unadulterated firepower when necessary.
Prologue: Deathshead's Compound (1946)
Your journey begins amidst the chaos of the final Allied push against General Deathshead's fortress. This initial sequence serves as a brutal introduction to the game's mechanics and sets the tone for the alternate 1960s you're about to experience.
- Objective: Infiltrate the Compound
- After the crash, follow Fergus/Wyatt (depending on your choice) through the trenches. Prioritize headshots on the standard Nazi soldiers.
- Item Alert: Keep an eye out for Health Packs and Armor Vests scattered behind cover and in small alcoves. These are crucial for early survival.
- When you encounter the first Super Soldier, aim for its head with sustained fire. Use the environment for cover.
- Objective: Reach the Main Gate
- Navigate the bombed-out corridors. You'll encounter your first Commander. Prioritize stealth takedowns (press

- Utilize the dual-wielding mechanic (hold

Chapter 1: Asylum (1960)
Fifteen years later, you awaken in a Polish asylum, a stark contrast to the war-torn battlefields. This chapter is primarily narrative-driven but offers opportunities for early exploration and understanding the new world order.
- Objective: Escape the Asylum
- Follow Anya's instructions. This section is largely linear, focusing on story progression.
- Strategy: While unarmed initially, pay attention to the environment. You'll soon acquire a Knife for stealth takedowns.
- Item Alert: The asylum contains various Medical Supplies and Food Items (like bread and soup) that restore small amounts of health. Collect them as you go.
- When the Nazis arrive, use stealth to your advantage. Hide in closets and behind furniture.
- Objective: Reach the Garage
- After acquiring your first firearm (usually a Pistol 1946), practice silent takedowns on isolated guards.
- Collectible: Search the patient rooms thoroughly. One room on the second floor often contains a Gold Item (Gold Watch) on a bedside table.
- The garage area will present your first real combat encounter since the prologue. Use cover effectively and aim for critical spots.
Chapter 2: Train to Berlin
The journey to Berlin aboard a Nazi-controlled train is a tense, claustrophobic experience. This chapter introduces the concept of "choices" that impact the narrative and gameplay later on.
- Objective: Infiltrate the Dining Car
- Maintain a low profile. The train is heavily patrolled.
- Strategy: Listen to enemy conversations to anticipate patrol routes. Use silenced weapons (if available, or the knife) for stealth kills.
- Item Alert: Look for Ammo Pickups in luggage racks and small storage compartments.
- The encounter with Frau Engel is a key narrative moment. Your responses here can influence minor dialogue later.
- Objective: Secure the Cargo Car
- After the confrontation, you'll need to fight your way through several train cars.
- Collectible: In the cargo car, search the crates and stacked equipment. A Gold Item (Gold Lighter) is often hidden amongst them.
- Be prepared for a brief but intense firefight with multiple soldiers and possibly a heavy trooper. Use the train car's layout for cover and flanking maneuvers.
