Kiryu's development is driven by four core stats, which can be increased by spending ability points earned through leveling up. Each stat influences different aspects of his performance:

- Strength: Directly impacts Kiryu's attack power. Higher Strength means more damage dealt with all physical attacks, including punches, kicks, and weapon attacks. Prioritize this for a damage-focused build.
- Agility: Affects Kiryu's movement speed, dodge distance, and the speed of some attack animations. Useful for players who prefer a more mobile and evasive combat style.
- Spirit: Increases Kiryu's defense and resistance to status effects. A higher Spirit stat means he takes less damage from enemy attacks and is less susceptible to being stunned or knocked down. Essential for a tankier build.
- Heat: Increases the maximum capacity of Kiryu's Heat Gauge and the rate at which it fills. More Heat allows for more frequent and powerful Heat Actions, which are often critical for dealing with tough enemies and bosses.
A balanced approach is often best for a first playthrough, but specializing can be fun for subsequent runs. Consider your playstyle when allocating points.
