Revelations are a unique mechanic in Yakuza 3 that allow Kiryu to learn new Heat Actions by observing specific events in the world and documenting them on his phone. These are often humorous or bizarre situations that Kiryu interprets as inspiration for a new combat technique.
How to trigger Revelations:
- Look for glowing spots: As you explore, keep an eye out for small, sparkling spots on the ground or objects. Interacting with these can sometimes trigger a Revelation event.
- Specific locations/NPCs: Some Revelations are tied to specific locations or require you to observe a particular NPC's behavior.
- Phone Camera: Once a Revelation event is triggered, Kiryu will pull out his phone. You'll need to take a picture of the key moment or object that inspires the Heat Action. Frame the shot correctly to successfully capture the Revelation.
- Blog Post: After taking the picture, Kiryu will write a short blog post about his observation. This usually involves a quick QTE (Quick Time Event) where you select the correct words or phrases to complete the post. Successfully completing the QTE unlocks the new Heat Action.
There are several Revelations scattered throughout Kamurocho and Okinawa. Unlocking them provides Kiryu with powerful new combat options, making them well worth seeking out. They are often tied to specific chapters or progression points in the main story, so revisit areas as you advance.
