Kanai is the first major boss Kiryu faces in Nagasugai. He's a formidable opponent who uses a powerful, brawling style. Kanai's attacks are slow but hit hard, and he has a tendency to charge at Kiryu. He also has a unique Heat Action where he grabs Kiryu and slams him repeatedly.
Phases & Attacks:
- Phase 1 (100%-50% HP): Kanai primarily uses heavy punches and a charging shoulder tackle. He's susceptible to Kiryu's quick combos (Square, Square, Square, Triangle) and throws. Dodge his charges and counter-attack.
- Phase 2 (50%-0% HP): Kanai becomes more aggressive, incorporating a powerful grab Heat Action. When he glows red, be prepared to dodge or use a Heat Action to interrupt him. He will also start using environmental objects if available.
Weaknesses & Strategy: Kanai is vulnerable to Kiryu's 'Tiger Drop' if you've unlocked it, as it's an excellent counter to his heavy attacks. Otherwise, focus on dodging his slow attacks and punishing him with quick combos. Utilize Heat Actions whenever your Heat Gauge is full, especially 'Essence of Extreme Dragon' or any environmental Heat Actions. Keep a few Staminan X or Toughness Z items on hand, as his attacks can deplete your health quickly. Try to keep him away from walls, as he can pin you and unleash devastating combos.
