Survival Tips & Mechanics
Surviving the zombie apocalypse in Kamurocho requires more than just brute force; it demands smart resource management and an understanding of the game's core mechanics. Here are some essential tips to keep you alive.
Ammo Conservation: Ammunition is your lifeline. Always aim for headshots, as they deal critical damage and are the most efficient way to dispatch most zombie types. Don't waste bullets on body shots unless absolutely necessary. Consider using melee weapons for weaker zombies when you're not in immediate danger.
Utilize Cover: The environment offers opportunities for tactical advantage. Duck behind cars, crates, and other debris to break line of sight with zombies and reload your weapons safely. This also gives you a moment to assess the situation and plan your next move.
Quick Step and Dodging: Mastering the quick step (Circle/B) is vital. Use it to evade incoming attacks, reposition yourself, and create distance from charging zombies. Combining quick steps with well-timed dodges can keep you out of harm's way.
Health Management: Keep an eye on your health bar. You'll find various healing items scattered throughout the city, from basic bandages to more potent medical supplies. Don't hesitate to use them when your health is low. You can also find food items that provide a small health boost.
Environmental Hazards: The quarantined zone is a dangerous place, but it also offers opportunities. Look for explosive barrels that can be shot to clear out groups of zombies. Sometimes, you can trigger environmental collapses or other hazards to your advantage.
Side Missions and Exploration: While the main objective is to survive, don't neglect side missions. They often reward you with valuable items, ammunition, or even new weapons. Exploring off the beaten path can also lead to hidden caches of supplies.
Character Switching: As you progress, you'll gain the ability to switch between different playable characters, each with their own unique skills and weaponry. Learn to leverage these differences to overcome specific challenges.
