Trophy/Achievement Guide

Welcome, Dragon of Dojima, to the ultimate guide for unlocking every single trophy and achievement in Yakuza Kiwami 2! This section will provide detailed strategies, locations, and tips to help you achieve 100% completion. While many trophies are story-related and unmissable, a significant portion requires dedication to side content, mini-games, and combat challenges. Prepare for a long but rewarding journey!

Roadmap to Platinum/100%

We recommend a two-playthrough approach for efficiency, though a single, very meticulous playthrough is possible. The main reason for two playthroughs is the difficulty-related trophies.

  1. First Playthrough (Normal/Hard Difficulty): Focus on enjoying the story, completing all substories, maxing out Kiryu's stats, and tackling most mini-games and completion list items. This will unlock the majority of trophies. Don't worry about missing anything, as Premium Adventure allows you to clean up.
  2. Second Playthrough (Legend Difficulty): This playthrough will be significantly shorter. With all upgrades from your first save carrying over via Premium New Game, you can rush through the main story chapters. The primary goal here is to unlock the "Legend of Dojima" trophy.

Story-Related Trophies (Unmissable)

These trophies are earned simply by progressing through the main storyline. You cannot miss them.

  • The Dragon of Dojima: Complete Chapter 1.
  • A New Threat: Complete Chapter 2.
  • The Omi Alliance: Complete Chapter 3.
  • A Promise to the Past: Complete Chapter 4.
  • The Truth: Complete Chapter 5.
  • The Dragon's Roar: Complete Chapter 6.
  • The Price of Power: Complete Chapter 7.
  • The Dragon's Palace: Complete Chapter 8.
  • The Man Who Erased His Name: Complete Chapter 9.
  • The Dragon's Resolve: Complete Chapter 10.
  • The Dragon's Fury: Complete Chapter 11.
  • The Dragon's End: Complete Chapter 12.
  • Thank You: Complete Chapter 13.
  • Kiwami: Complete the main story.
  • The Majima Saga: Complete the Majima Saga.

Completion List Trophies

The Completion List is accessed via the Pause Menu. Achieving 100% in various categories is crucial for several trophies.

Substory Completionist

  • Substory Novice: Complete 10 substories.
  • Substory Fanatic: Complete 30 substories.
  • Substory Enthusiast: Complete 50 substories.
  • Substory King: Complete all 70 substories.
    • Strategy: Subtories appear as question marks on your map. Many are triggered by simply walking past a certain area, talking to specific NPCs, or completing previous substories. Some are time-sensitive or require specific items. Consult a dedicated substory guide for precise triggers and walkthroughs. Ensure you complete all of them before finishing the main story, though Premium Adventure allows for cleanup.

Mini-Game Master

  • Mini-Game Novice: Play 5 different mini-games.
  • Mini-Game Master: Achieve a certain score or completion in all mini-games.
    • Strategy: This trophy requires you to engage with every mini-game available in Kamurocho and Sotenbori. This includes:
      • Cabaret Club Czar: Complete the entire story and achieve S-rank with all hostesses. This is a significant time sink.
      • Clan Creator: Complete all missions, including the EX Hard ones. Recruit and level up powerful leaders.
      • Golf: Achieve a good score in both Nearest to the Pin and Competition modes.
      • Batting Center: Hit all targets in all courses. Practice is key.
      • Mahjong: Win a game (East or South Round). This can be challenging for newcomers; learn the basics of Riichi Mahjong.
      • Shogi: Win a game. Similar to Mahjong, this requires understanding the rules. You can use the "cheat" method by exiting and re-entering until you get a favorable board, or use a Shogi app to guide your moves.
      • UFO Catcher: Win a prize.
      • Darts: Win a game of 301 or 501.
      • Karaoke: Get a high score on all songs.
      • Virtua Fighter 2.1: Win a match.
      • Virtual On: Win a match.
      • Toylets: Play all three mini-games.
      • Photo Booth: Take a photo.
      • Massage: Complete a session.
      • Gravure Photo Studio: Complete a session.
      • Bouncer Missions: Complete all missions. These are combat challenges and can be tough.

Battle Enthusiast

  • Heat Action Master: Perform 100 different Heat Actions.
    • Strategy: Experiment with different weapons, environmental objects, and enemy states. Many Heat Actions are unlocked through skill upgrades. Pay attention to the prompts during combat.
  • Weapon Collector: Obtain 50 different weapons.
    • Strategy: Purchase weapons from weapon shops (Don Quijote, Beam, etc.), craft them at the Weapon Workshop (located in the Dragon & Tiger equipment shop), and find them as drops from enemies or in lockers.
  • Skill Master: Learn all of Kiryu's skills.
    • Strategy: This requires significant EXP grinding. Focus on eating at restaurants, completing substories, and fighting enemies. Use the "Revelation" events to learn new Heat Actions. Don't forget the skills unlocked by completing the "Training" missions with Komaki and other masters.

Difficulty-Related Trophies

  • Legend of Dojima: Complete the game on Legend difficulty.
    • Strategy: As mentioned, this is best done on a Premium New Game save after completing the game once. Your upgraded stats, skills, and inventory will carry over, making Legend difficulty much more manageable. Focus solely on the main story missions.

Miscellaneous Trophies

  • The Dragon of Kansai: Defeat Ryuji Goda in the final chapter. (Story-related, unmissable)
  • The Dragon's True Power: Max out all of Kiryu's stats (Strength, Agility, Spirit, Technique, Charm).
    • Strategy: This is a major grind. Eat at restaurants (especially those with meal combos), complete substories, fight random encounters, and use the various training mini-games (like the gym or the massage parlor) to gain EXP. Equip items that boost EXP gain, such as the Ebisu Socks (found in a locker or purchased later).
  • Kamurocho Tourist: Visit all locations in Kamurocho.
    • Strategy: Simply walk into every accessible building and area on the Kamurocho map. The map will show if an area has been "discovered."
  • Sotenbori Tourist: Visit all locations in Sotenbori.
    • Strategy: Similar to Kamurocho, explore every corner of Sotenbori.
  • Fashionista: Change Kiryu's outfit.
    • Strategy: Go to the hideout (Serena or Four Shine) and interact with the wardrobe. You'll unlock outfits through substories or DLC.
  • The Gourmet: Eat at every restaurant in Kamurocho and Sotenbori.
    • Strategy: Simply order at least one item from the menu of every restaurant. Check your completion list for progress.

This guide covers the major trophies and provides actionable advice. Remember to save frequently, especially before challenging mini-games or boss fights. Good luck, and enjoy your journey to 100% completion in Yakuza Kiwami 2!
