Post-Game Content

Congratulations, Dragon of Dojima! You've navigated the treacherous waters of the Tojo Clan and Omi Alliance, but your journey in Sotenbori and Kamurocho is far from over. Yakuza Kiwami 2 offers a wealth of activities and challenges to tackle after the credits roll. This section will guide you through maximizing your post-game experience, from completing unfinished business to conquering the ultimate challenges.

Premium Adventure

Upon completing the main story, you'll unlock Premium Adventure. This mode allows you to freely explore Kamurocho and Sotenbori with all your acquired skills, items, and money from your completed save file. There are no story missions, giving you the freedom to pursue any remaining side content at your leisure. You can switch between Kiryu and Majima (if you've completed The Majima Saga) from the main menu or by visiting specific locations in-game.

  • Switching Characters: To switch to Majima in Premium Adventure, visit his construction office in Sotenbori. To switch back to Kiryu, return to the same location.
  • Save Transfer: Any progress made in Premium Adventure (money, items, completed substories, etc.) will carry over to a New Game+ save.

Completion List & Achievements

The Completion List is your ultimate guide to 100%ing Yakuza Kiwami 2. Accessible from the pause menu, it tracks everything from substories and mini-games to food consumption and enemy encounters. Many achievements (trophies on PlayStation) are tied directly to completing specific sections of this list.

Substories

If you haven't completed all 70 substories during the main game, Premium Adventure is the perfect time to mop them up. Many substories offer unique rewards, including powerful gear, large sums of money, or even new Heat Actions. Refer to a dedicated substory guide for specific locations and requirements.

Mini-Games

Mastering the various mini-games is crucial for completionists. Each mini-game has its own set of challenges and rewards. Focus on these to fill out your Completion List:

  • Cabaret Club Grand Prix: Continue managing Club Four Shine to defeat all rival clubs and become the undisputed champion of Sotenbori. This is a significant time sink but offers substantial monetary rewards and unlocks powerful allies for the Clan Creator.
  • Clan Creator: Engage in the strategic real-time battles at Majima Construction. Complete all missions, including the challenging "Legendary Lineup" battles, to recruit powerful characters and earn valuable items like the Dragon God Amulet.
  • Bouncer Missions: Located at the Kamurocho Police Station, these challenging combat scenarios offer unique rewards and test your fighting prowess. Aim for S-ranks on all missions, especially the "Ultimate Battle" series, to unlock the War God Talisman.
  • Golf: Perfect your swing at the Golf Center in Sotenbori. Complete all challenges, including the Long Drive and Closest to the Pin, for various prizes.
  • Mahjong & Shogi: These traditional Japanese games can be found in various locations. Mastering them requires patience but contributes to your completion.
  • UFO Catcher: Found in arcades, collect all the plush toys.
  • Karaoke: Achieve high scores on all songs at the various karaoke bars.
  • Darts: Hit those bullseyes at the dart bars.
  • Batting Center: Practice your hitting to clear all courses.
  • Virtua Fighter 2.1: Found in Club SEGA arcades, defeat all opponents.

Ultimate Challenges

For the truly hardcore, Ultimate Challenges (accessible from the main menu after completing the game) offer a series of brutal combat trials. These challenges test your mastery of Kiryu's combat system and often require specific strategies and item usage. Successfully completing them unlocks the Legendary Dragon difficulty for New Game+.

  • Melee Challenges: Straight-up fights against waves of enemies or powerful bosses.
  • Weapon Challenges: Utilize specific weapons to defeat opponents.
  • Heat Action Challenges: Focus on executing various Heat Actions efficiently.
  • Survival Challenges: Endure multiple rounds of increasingly difficult enemies.

New Game+ & Legend Difficulty

Starting a New Game+ allows you to replay the main story with all your acquired skills, money, items, and completed substories from your previous save. This is ideal for experiencing the story again with a fully powered-up Kiryu, or for tackling the game on a higher difficulty.

  • Legend Difficulty: This incredibly challenging difficulty setting is unlocked after completing the game on any difficulty. Enemies hit harder, have more health, and are generally more aggressive. It's recommended to have a fully upgraded Kiryu and a strong understanding of combat mechanics before attempting Legend.

The Majima Saga Completion

If you haven't already, ensure you complete The Majima Saga. This separate storyline, starring Goro Majima, provides crucial backstory and additional gameplay. Completing it unlocks Majima as a playable character in Premium Adventure and offers unique rewards.

Hidden Bosses & Amon Clan

The legendary Amon Clan awaits those who dare to seek them out. Defeating all substories is usually a prerequisite for encountering these formidable foes. The Amon fights are some of the toughest in the game and require strategic preparation, including powerful weapons, armor, and healing items.

  • Jiro Amon: Typically appears after completing a significant number of substories. His exact trigger can vary, but generally, finishing all substories related to a specific mini-game or area will lead to his appearance.
  • Kazuya Amon: Another powerful Amon, often tied to completing another set of substories.
  • Sango Amon: The third brother, requiring even more substory completion.
  • Joji Amon: The patriarch of the Amon Clan, the ultimate challenge. Be prepared for a multi-stage battle against all four Amon brothers. Defeating them grants you the prestigious Amon's Sunglasses and the satisfaction of conquering the game's toughest opponents.

By following this guide, you'll be well on your way to achieving 100% completion in Yakuza Kiwami 2 and cementing your legacy as the true Dragon of Dojima!
