Post-Game Content
Congratulations, Dragon of Dojima! You've navigated the treacherous streets of Kamurocho and seen Kiryu's story through to its dramatic conclusion. But the journey doesn't end there. Yakuza Kiwami offers a wealth of post-game content to keep you engaged, from completing unfinished business to tackling new challenges. This section will guide you through maximizing your post-story experience.
Premium Adventure
Upon completing the main story, you'll unlock Premium Adventure. This mode allows you to freely explore Kamurocho without the constraints of the main narrative. All substories you missed, mini-games, and completion list objectives are available. You retain all your unlocked abilities, items, and money from your completed save file.
- Accessing Premium Adventure: Load your clear save data (marked with a star) from the main menu. You'll be given the option to start a New Game+ or Premium Adventure.
- Key Activities:
- Substory Completion: Many substories are only available at certain points in the story or after specific conditions are met. Use Premium Adventure to mop up any you missed. Consult your in-game completion list for guidance.
- Mini-Game Mastery: Aim for high scores in games like MesuKing: Battle Bug Beauties, Pocket Circuit, or the Batting Center. Achieving certain scores often unlocks valuable items or completion points.
- Completion List: The completion list is your ultimate guide to 100%ing the game. It tracks everything from food eaten to enemies defeated with specific Heat Actions. Premium Adventure is the ideal time to chip away at these.
- Item Collection: Hunt down any remaining Locker Keys, find all the hidden weapons, and purchase expensive equipment from shops like Don Quijote or the Beam.
New Game+
For those seeking a fresh challenge or wanting to experience the story again with an edge, New Game+ is your answer. When starting a New Game+, you can carry over various elements from your completed save file.
- Accessing New Game+: Load your clear save data (marked with a star) and select New Game+.
- Carry-Over Options:
- Money: All your accumulated yen.
- Items: All items in your inventory and storage.
- Equipment: Weapons, armor, and accessories.
- Abilities & Experience: All unlocked abilities and experience points.
- Completion List Progress: Your progress towards 100% completion.
- Majima Everywhere Progress: Your current rank and unlocked encounters with Majima.
- Benefits of New Game+:
- Legend Difficulty: Unlock the ultimate challenge! Legend difficulty significantly increases enemy health and damage, making combat much more demanding. This is perfect for testing your mastery of Kiryu's fighting styles.
- Early Power Spike: Start the game with all your powerful abilities and gear, making early chapters a breeze and allowing you to focus on the story or speedrunning.
- Missed Opportunities: If you missed any time-sensitive substories or unique events, New Game+ provides another chance.
The Ultimate Challenge: Legend Difficulty
Legend difficulty is not for the faint of heart. Enemies hit harder, have more health, and often employ more aggressive tactics. Here are some strategies to survive and thrive:
- Prioritize Upgrades: Before starting Legend, ensure Kiryu's Dragon of Dojima style is fully upgraded, especially the Heat Actions and health regeneration abilities. Max out your other styles as well for versatility.
- Stock Up on Healing Items: Always carry a generous supply of high-tier healing items like Staminan Royale, Toughness Infinity, and Mystery Liquid. You can purchase these at convenience stores or pharmacies.
- Weapon Use: Don't be afraid to use powerful weapons. The Dragon Slayer, obtained from the Weapon Shop in the Dragon Palace, is an excellent choice for boss fights. Crafting and upgrading weapons at the Dragon & Tiger is also crucial.
- Majima Everywhere: Continue to engage Majima to unlock powerful Dragon of Dojima abilities. These are essential for Legend difficulty. Focus on learning the "Essence of Extreme Dragon" Heat Actions.
- Environmental Heat Actions: Master using environmental objects (bicycles, cones, signs) as weapons and for powerful Heat Actions. These can turn the tide of a difficult fight.
- Grinding: If you find yourself struggling, consider grinding for experience and money in Premium Adventure before attempting Legend. The Coliseum is an excellent place for this.
Completion List & Trophies
For the true completionist, the Completion List is your final frontier. This extensive list tracks nearly every activity in the game, from eating every dish at every restaurant to winning every mini-game. Completing specific sections of the list often rewards you with valuable items or unlocks new content.
- Restaurant Guide: Keep a checklist of all food items you've consumed. Some restaurants have unique menus.
- Mini-Game Master: Aim for the highest scores in all mini-games. This often requires significant practice and understanding of each game's mechanics.
- Heat Action Enthusiast: Ensure you've performed every Heat Action at least once. This includes specific environmental Heat Actions and those tied to different fighting styles.
- Substory Hunter: Don't leave any substory unfinished. Some substories have multiple parts or require specific conditions to trigger.
- Trophy Hunting: Many trophies are directly tied to completing sections of the Completion List or achieving specific milestones. Use a trophy guide in conjunction with your in-game list to track your progress.
By following these steps, you'll not only fully experience everything Yakuza Kiwami has to offer but also truly earn your title as the Dragon of Dojima!
