How to Beat Boss: Joon-gi Han (Chapter 5)
Joon-gi Han is a boss encountered in Chapter 5 of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This fight can be challenging, especially if you haven't optimized your party's jobs and skills. Understanding the game's turn-based RPG mechanics and utilizing environmental objects can turn the tide in your favor.
To prepare for this fight, consider the following:
- Job Changes: Jobs can be changed starting mid-Chapter 5 at Hello Work by talking to Ririka. While it's generally harder to level jobs early on, switching Saeko to an Idol ASAP is recommended for her healing abilities.
- Environmental Attacks: Objects in battle can inflict status ailments or damage. Knocking an enemy into a bush can cause Bleed, a window smash can cause extra Blade damage, and a large lit-up sign can cause Paralysis. Large weapons Kasuga can use may cause Stun. Cars passing by on the road can deal an extra 100 damage.
- Essences: Essences bypass most counter abilities enemies might have. However, using an item too close to an enemy in a counter state can result in the item usage being countered.
- Critical Hits: When a character is at low HP (glowing red portrait), there's a small chance they will briefly flash yellow, guaranteeing a critical hit on their next physical or non-elemental magic attack. This can be forced in the Sotenbori Battle Arena.
