Deepening the bonds between Ichiban Kasuga and his party members is more than just a narrative element; it directly impacts combat effectiveness in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. As your bond levels increase, characters gain access to new abilities, passive buffs, and unique dialogue, making them more valuable allies both in and out of battle.
Bond levels are primarily increased through specific interactions. The most common method is by visiting the Survive Bar and engaging in 'Drink Links' with your party members. During these interactions, you'll have dialogue choices. Selecting the correct responses, often those that al with the character's personality or show empathy, will sificantly boost your bond. Additionally, simply having party members in your active combat party and participating in battles together will slowly increase their bond with Ichiban. Completing substories that involve specific party members can also contribute to their bond growth.
