Introduction to Jobs & Job Classes
Yakuza: Like a Dragon introduces a deep Job System, transforming the traditional Yakuza combat into a strategic JRPG experience. Jobs are essentially character classes that dictate a character's stats, available skills, and combat role. Mastering this system is key to building a powerful and versatile party capable of overcoming any challenge.
At the start of the game, your party members will have access to their default jobs. Ichiban begins as the Hero, a balanced fighter. As you progress, you'll unlock the ability to change jobs at the Hello Work vocational center. Each job offers a unique set of skills, passive abilities, and stat distributions. For example, the Breaker job focuses on crowd control and debuffs, while the Chef job excels at elemental damage and status effects.
Switching jobs allows characters to learn new skills that can be carried over even after changing back to a different job. This system encourages experimentation and allows for sificant customization of your party's strengths. For instance, a character might learn powerful Fire skills as a Chef and then switch to a more physically oriented job while retaining those elemental abilities.
Key aspects of the Job System:
- Job Roles: Each job has a distinct role (e.g., Tank, DPS, Support, Healer).
- Skill Inheritance: Skills learned in one job can be used in others.
- Stat Growth: Different jobs provide different stat bonuses and growth rates.
- Unlocking New Jobs: Jobs are unlocked through story progression and specific requirements.
The variety of jobs available ensures that You can tailor their party to their preferred playstyle. Whether you favor aggressive offense, strategic debuffing, or steadfast defense, there's a job combination that will suit your needs. Experimenting with different job pairings is highly recommended to discover powerful synergies.
