Chapter 6: The Yakuza's Whereabouts
Chapter 6, titled "The Yakuza's Whereabouts," is a significant point in Yakuza: Like a Dragon's narrative, forming part of the game's 15 chapters. This chapter is characterized by a long series of fights, making combat proficiency crucial. While job-swapping is available from mid-Chapter 5 at Hello Work by talking to Ririka, it's generally not recommended to immediately change jobs at the start of Chapter 6 due to the difficulty in leveling new jobs and the temporary loss of familiar skills.
For Kasuga, some jobs require specific experience and attribute levels to be selectable. Saeko, however, is an exception; it's best to switch her to an Idol job as soon as possible. Given the combat-heavy nature of Chapter 6, Chapter 7 is a more opportune time to experiment with job changes, especially after recruiting Eri through the business management minigame. This later stage also provides more funds for purchasing unique weapons for each class. The game's turn-based RPG mechanics are central to these encounters, and while the game has been praised for its accessibility, some players found later chapters, including those with frequent enemy encounters, could feel grindy without engaging in side content.
